hey people.
Recently, a friend of mine passed away, and another one of my friends, who had been her friend since they were really young, is taking it really hard. i wrote this poem for him.
Hey,
Remember me?
Of course you do.
You’re holding my picture.
How have you been?
Looks like the tears haven’t stopped.
Don’t cry too much.
Smiling always suited you better.
I can’t say I know how you feel.
It feels different for everyone
But hey, don’t worry.
I’ll stay with you.
I’m happy where I am now.
Sure, it’s not the same as before.
But I’m not alone.
This is my home now..
Are you still sad?
Do you miss me?
Oh, I see,
Yeah, I miss you too.
Don’t worry,
Someday you’ll get to see me again.
But I hope that won’t be for awhile.
You’re fine where you are.
I’m at peace here.
It stopped hurting a long time ago.
Thanks for the flowers.
You knew roses were my favorite.
Oh come on,
Chin up and smile.
It wasn’t goodbye forever.
We’ll see each other in a little.
Hey,
I’m going home.
Say hi to everyone for me.
See you in awhile.
