Organization Chess Pieces:
Xemmy is the king. meaning he's the one everyone protects even though he doesn't travel far, hardly does any real battle, and tends to stay in the back, but if you lose him you've lost anyways
Saix is the Queen, having free run of the board, one of the most deadly, but not VITAL. Meaning if they lose him it'd be a blow but it wouldn't be the end.
Marluxia and Axel are Knights. Powerful and complex and able to pull off moves that no one else can. If skilled, a knight may keep the others unable to foresee these moves, and quite often sneak up on other peices. Unfortunately, they can't seem to keep anything simple (though for them they like to keep it that way) and such complex plans may be their downfall.
Lex and Xaldin are the Rooks. No I'm not saying they're just the muscle of the group... but they kinda are if need be. Sure they both have their other skills, high intelligence and enough sense to stay out of battle until necessary, but if they have to fight, its a force to be reckoned with. See the target, take it out, or rush over to help a fellow member, which ever the case may be. Rooks go head strong into battle, rarely considering defeat as possible. However, sometimes going head long means getting into fights means underestimating their opponant.
Xiggy and Vexen would be Bishops (I personally have put Xiggy at the King's right side, Vexie on the Queen's left). Bishops are odd as they're close to the top, but everything about them is at an angle, whether it be their motives, their movement, or in how they plan to strike. This slanted way of going about things makes it hard to see where they're going all the time but in a game where everything moves up, down, left, or right, bishops have the ability to sneak through the openings At the same time, slipping through holes can just as easily set them up to be attacked.
Larxene, Luxord and Demyx would be pawns of the game. They are essential for sending out, fighting, basically just taking out the other side's members. They do what they're told (not always happily) and depending on who's giving the order they could either be sent to seek and destroy, or be fodder so the stronger pieces can take out a key piece to the opponent. Pawns can only move forward in their task, but attack from the side. They may not be the most powerful, but they are necissary for protecting the others and clearing a path. The pawns however have one key factor the others don't. They don't stay pawns. Any of these could move up in rank should they make it to the other side of the board (Larx having chance to become a queen or Luxie becoming a knight, or even Demy becoming a Rook if he wasn't so timid about things. XD).
Zexion= Player. The player: The player is a powerful factor to the game whether the pieces notice or not. Said Player obviously doesn't fight as their weapon is to use the pieces to full advantage. Pawns and rooks may know well of his tactics and the queen certainly knows he can be quite the moving force (the motivator if you will). The King may be oblivious as he's rarely played but bishops tend to be useful and therefore may find themselves working more to the advantage of the player than in their defense of the king. Knights... its debatable if they find him to be a threat or just something to be dealt with as they go about the game. Quite often they can be an annoyance as it takes a skilled player to keep them in his favor. With their complexities, the player may end up getting a knight that puts him in more tight places than helping or even accidentally sacrificing one for the sake of getting it off the board. The player is key to winning a game, but sometimes he may just want to sit back and watch the battle unfold as he simply tells them where to go, without actually taking part.
