The Melody Called Chaos: Reunion Of Mother And Daughter
The teacher was writing on the chalkboard in class. Ichigo sat there bored out of his mind in class. He shifted his eyes a little to see what Maya was up to. She was writing down what looked like musical notes on a piece of paper. Ichigo couldn’t help but peek over a little more. Maya looked up and turned to him, blinking before she whispered to him.
“ What are you doing?”
“ Nothing…what are you doing?”
“ Something…”
“ Something like what?”
Maya smiled and stuck her tongue out at him and shook her head. Ichigo frowned, but chuckled softly under his breath. Maya lifted up the paper for him to see. He was write, she was writing down musical notes, but they were going in strange patterns.
“ I’m writing down some more spells”
“ I see…that’s a lot of spells”
“ Yeah…and you’re going to learn all of them”
Ichigo was about to say something when a student came into the classroom just then. Ichigo looked up and blinked some. It was Rukia that had entered. What was she doing in the class suddenly?
“ Why is Rukia here?”
Maya looked up and noticed that Rukia was there. She too wondered why she talking to the teacher in the front of the class. The teacher nodded and turned around to the class.
“ Ichigo. You are wanted in the office. There is a phone call for you”
Ichigo blinked again even more confused now. A phone call? From whom? Without question Ichigo took his stuff and got up and began walking to the door. Rukia looked at him, then to Maya. She turned to the teacher some, putting on a small act.
“ If you don’t mind…I need to speak with Maya about something that the principal wanted us to do for the up coming….um….spring festival. I’ve tried to avoid taking up her class time, but he insist on us discussing and planning for it. He says it can’t wait any longer”
Maya looked up at Rukia. What did she mean by that? Then it hit her suddenly. Rukia needed them because there was something going on. The teacher thought about it for a moment, then gave Maya the ok to go with Rukia and Ichigo. Maya quickly picked up her things and rushed out the room. When she got out the door, her and Rukia went into a sprint. Ichigo blinked and followed behind them on their heels. He managed to catch up to Maya and Rukia fell in back of them. Ichigo looked at Maya, her face was now stern and angry.
“ What’s going on?”
“ He’s come back…”
“ Who?”
Maya didn’t say anything to him. The look in her eyes were deadly and full of hatred and revenge. Ichigo had never seen this side of Maya, and never intended to. Rukia kept quiet for a moment as she slipped on her glove to change Ichigo into his reaper form as they talked.
“ Maya you have to keep focus…or else he’ll get away again”
Maya clenched her fist as she picked up speed. She didn’t need Rukia telling her what she needed to do. She was too set on avenging her mother and her village at the moment, focus was the last thing on her mind. Ichigo figured out who he was. It was that Hollow called Chaos. The one who slaughtered everyone she loved.
“ Ichigo are you ready?”
Ichigo nodded to Rukia as she pushed her hand into his back, pushing out his spirit. His body hit the ground and Rukia stopped, placing a small pill in his mouth. His body jumped up immediately and gave the three a smirk. Rukia looked to him.
“ Take good care of his body Kon”
“ You got nothing to worry about Rukia!”
“ You damage it and I’ll rip your seams out!”
Kon frowned at Ichigo and folded his arms before walking back towards his class. When they finally got outside, Ichigo stopped Maya.
“ Maya…Rukia’s right you know. You have to focus…or he’ll get away again…and hurt someone else this time.”
Maya didn’t say anything to him. She was quiet then released some spirit energy. Her school clothes disappeared and her red yukata covered her body now. She paused then turned to the others.
“ I don’t plan on letting him get away from me…not again.”
She smiled to them, letting them know that she was going to be as focused as she could be. Rukia smiled and nodded, flipping open her cell phone to find the Hollow’s location. She looked up to them.
“ It’s in a vacant lot near here. Let’s go!”
They arrived on the scene a couple minutes later. They looked around, but couldn’t find anyone or anything there. This was strange indeed. The Hollow was there, the signal was going crazy, but there was no one in sight. Ichigo looked around sharply; Rukia was trying to figure out what the heck was going on with this Hollow. Maya stood back pressed against Ichigo, she looked around for a moment, then summoned her flute.
“ If you’re not going to show yourself, then I’ll have to force you out…”
Maya closed her eyes and began playing a soft melody. Ichigo had remembered this spell; this was one of the first she had taught him. The revealing spell forces a Hollow to come out of hiding. He smirked widely and steadied his Zanbakuto, awaiting the Hollow to come out so he could dispose of it. As assumed the Hollow did come out finally, right in front of Ichigo. He smirked jumping for it and slashed its hand. It screamed and then swung his other hand and hit Ichigo. Maya turned around to find Ichigo laying on the ground.
“ ICHIGO!”
“MAYA BEHIND YOU!”
Maya looked behind her slightly then jumped out of the way of the Hollow’s attack. As she was in the air, Maya began playing another melody, this one much faster than the other one she had done. Ichigo say a bright flash and heard another scream from the Hollow. The flash disappeared and the Hollow was chained down to the ground. Maya stood on the wall in front of the Hollow. She looked at it with anger, but not for long. She heard a sharp note suddenly…it sounded like it was coming from a Japanese stringed instrument. She looked at the Hollow; it was looking at her as well. The note kept playing as she stared at it, the note was so familiar to her…she had heard it before somewhere…
Images began flashing through Maya’s mind then, memories from when she was a little girl. She saw herself running through a field of tall grass, laughing while she tried catching the dragonflies that were just ahead of her. She’d fall in the soft grass, then get back up and try again. Then Maya heard a soft gently stream of notes filling the air. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound, following it. She opened her eyes and found herself at a koi pond. There was a woman sitting near the pond with her instrument, strumming the strings into a lovely melody. Maya smiled and ran up to her as little spirits surrounded the woman. Maya looked up at her and smiled widely at her, the woman looked at Maya and smiled back.
“ M-Mama?”
