Chapter Seven
Ruins

The dark being stayed back as they ran into the cave. "Andd... get lossstt..." She muttered. They ran to the end of the tunnel. Zero slid on the ground and turned around. "So... it looks like we should never go back there again, yeah?" Paul looked at him, almost angrily. "No time to make jokes, Zero." A stepping sound was heard deep inside the cave. "Paul... d-d...do you hear that too?" Zero asked. "Don't worry g-....guys. It's just me, Ch-chloe..." She had her arm against the cave wall and was leaning over in pain. Avery looked over to her. Ashley stared away, not caring. "J-j...jake, if your little friend doesn't---" Chloe started. "Ohh, shut up!" Avery stated. "If your little rivalry against each other, Ashley, Chloe, then--then--- just stop, okay?!" Zero was still shocked Chloe used his real name.
Chloe stared at Avery. "So, you're the kid who tried to save Ashley when I battled her, huh? You've got guts, kid. Call me Kuro." She put out her hand to shake with Avery. Zero laughed. "He's not gonna shake with you," he started, "unless you tell him you haven't had any nuts. He's allergic." Kuro looked towards Zero. "I had a ton... but we'll still shake." She had an evil grin on her face, the dark lighting of the cave adding to the menacing smile.
They walked out, looking at the ruined city. Paul stood in awe. "T--....this place is a wreck..." The entire town was in ruins.
