I sped up. How fast is the max of a bat's speed? 80, 90 miles per hour?
I tripped on my foot. "AAAAGGGHH!!!" All of a sudden, I had a blackout. The pain ached. My bones ached. My brain strained to get no damage....
"Huh? So I'm OK?" I hugged my knees when I sat up. A Native Gaian pushed my hair out of my face.
"Yes, dear, you are fine. Just rest." The Native Gaian turned to her family. She whispered, "She's getting more pale, and her eyes are narrowing. I'm not sure how, but her teeth are getting much sharper."
"Symptoms of a vampire," the oldest daughter whispered. I looked at myself in a mirror. Sure enough, I looked like a vampire. Of course! It made sense now! The bats had bit me and I turned into a vampire!
And the story began.
