once upon a time, a young man was travelling along the road called LIFE. the road had many obstacles; trials, hardships, heartbreaks and loss. halfway along his journey, he met a girl that he could call HOME. a place to rest his heart. he found sanctuary in this one soul. and there, he placed all his doubts and fears, he felt happier than he ever did before. many days have passed and he fell more and more in love with her, but each passing day seemed to become less and less lively for him. finally, she said that she would leave the young man. the young man cried until his eyes can cry no more. just when he thought that he had found a place to stay, she left him to be alone. yet again, he was alone. walking in the road of life, trying to look for another way but keeps on stumbling on the same place where his life supposed to take a detour towards happiness. no matter what route he takes, he always finds himself on the very same dead end. no matter where he looks, he can’t find another way. and from that day on, he lived happily never after…
unless…
years have passed since she left him, the young man decided to take a walk. because of too much thinking, he never realized that he was on the very same place where he met that lovely girl. fate seems to be pulling him to the same place, dragging him. and there, behind the trees, he saw a girl. he approached her and asked
“what are you doing here all alone?”
the girl replied “im waiting for someone… what about you? what are you doing here all by yourself?”
he stared at the girl for a moment and said “im just wandering around. just… well… i just thought i might see her here one day. that’s all…”
the girl looked up at him, with an expression of mild surprise, then spoke, very quietly “i am waiting for someone that i left a few years back. i never meant to do him harm. i wanted to tell him this for years, but i never had the chance to do so. i never saw him again…”
“he understands you im sure of it…” he replied. “and right now he’s still waiting for you to come back…”
“how d’you know about that?” the girl replied, bewildered.
“because i have been waiting for someone who gave my life a meaning, who gave me strength to continue my journey. she is the reason why i continued to live. though she left me years ago, she’s still here…” the young man pointed at his left chest, “…she never really left me, she’s always with me. i see her when i sleep, and her voice wakes me up every morning. that’s how much i love her. and im sure that the guy you’re waiting for feels the same as me.”
“i wish it was true…” said the girl
“it is true…” replied the young man without looking at the girl, “i have been looking for you since the day you left…”
and the young man stood up, tears falling from his eyes. he started to leave but then turned around, saying “i knew it was you the moment i saw you. and im happy to see you come back. i just wish you would never leave again…”
then without another word, he set off. hand in hand with the girl whom he loved so dearly…
