Circuit Nobody Babble

There is an evil tendency underlying all our technology - the tendency to do what is reasonable even when it isn't any good. - Robert Pirsig

Light reflected dully off of the creature's metallic surface, a pale silver. There's nothing within the series of small circular holes of its skull that can be seen; the darkness is too deep for the light to penetrate. Circular headphones are attached to the sides of its head from which thin triangles protrude. Occasionally, it turns its head to the side and tilts it, as if picking something up. Then it continues whatever task it has been assigned, long neck stretched tall.

That same length is visible in other areas of its body, from its chassis to its bottom, and then from its bottom area to the single black wheel it possesses. The arm sockets on its sides are completely empty, in a way. A pale glowing orb floats close to each one and somehow, it seems to keep two upper arms floating as well. At the joint where a human would have an elbow, there's only a smaller glowing orb which connect to the forearm. Its fingers are long and constantly twitching when not in work. It ignores all life unless it is truly unavoidable, and when you step in front of it, it only stares up at you patiently with an expressionless face.

Circuit Nobodies are Xandra's Lesser Nobodies. Unlike most other Lesser Nobodies, they have little personality. It's rather fitting, considering their Mistress. As it is, they're workers above all. Desunt Cetera is their prize and glory. They are constantly working on it in a variety of ways. Engineering, tech problems- whatever it is, they work to either fix it or improve it. Their sheer dedication and endurance ensures they can work for ages without rest.

When they're not in 'shut down' mode, however, Circuit Nobodies are constantly compelled to do something. If there's no serious work available, they become insanely OCD. Everything must be spotless, at least for the public areas. (Xandra discouraged them from trying to clean eternally dirty areas like the engine ones, just make it manageable. ) This is good for people like Somnam, but to anyone else... It's ******** creepy. They make it look as if the place is uninhabited.

The Circuits don't have much combat experience; Xandra and Ienzo value them too much as workers and repair teams. This doesn't mean they're stupid; while they say nothing, Circuit Nobodies communicate with each other on a kind of wireless network which connects all of them together. What one Circuit knows, all of them know. They're also more tactical than, say, Nurses or Heartless. Add this with the fact that they can connect with the ship herself (plus all the security that entails), and they're a formidable little group.

One last thing that's not commonly known: Circuits are incredibly strong. A small group of them could lift up one of Xandra's ships with their bare hands. They have extremely good control over themselves, however, so it's unlikely they'll ever hurt someone by accident. Xandra's machines are always well oiled, after all.

Speaking of Xandra, they can do a limited version of their wireless connection with Xandra, thanks to the tech inside of her.

The kind of people who are most likely to become Circuits are those who were completely dedicated to work when they had hearts, along with others who are just as apathetic as their Mistress was even when she had a heart.
