MY OWN SECRETS....
What A Father Should Be.
I don't expect anyone to read this. It's away from the little glimpses of my rp character. But today is far different from any other day. It's always on this date that I take my time to stop whatever I'm doing, and think for a bit. Everyone deals with a loss in their own way. I try to be pleasant since it'd be wrong to be sad. So, if I suddenly give you a hug, or be nice out of the blue and pleasant, you'll know why. This rant is over, now it's time to tell how I think a father really should be.

A father is someone your supposed to be able to look up to. A father is someone who's always there when you need them the most. A father is someone who will do what they can to make you happy. A father is someone who's both strong, and gentle at the same time. A father is someone your supposed to be able to go to when you have a problem. A father is someone who isn't afraid to tell you they love you, be you a boy or girl. My father was all of those things. He was strong, but a gentle giant at the same time. He was always there when I needed him, and always did what he could to make sure I was happy. I'd always be at his side like a little shadow. Spending each day with him when he wasn't off at work to put food on the table and keep a roof over our heads. He is the reason why I like listening to oldies. He is the reason why I enjoy Halloween more then any other holiday of the year. My father did his best to teach me from right and wrong. He tried his best to make sure I stayed out of trouble. Every night when he came home from work, he'd always check in on me if I were asleep. Whenever I had nightmares, he'd sit by me or lay down on the floor by my bed to make sure the monsters wouldn't come. He gave me my first stuffed animal that is a yorky dog as a welcoming gift into the world the day I was born. I admit, I still have that stuffed dog to this day. Of all my brothers, he attended only my birth. He introduced me to the joys of rodeos from bull riding to barrel racing on the horses. He taught me how to play basket ball, and he taught me how to wrestle. He didn't know how to read, so I'd read for him. I didn't know how to count, so he'd sit down and count with me. If none of my older brothers wanted to play with me my dad would drop what he was doing and entertain me so that I wouldn't be alone. If he needed help with the car he'd always call for me to sit with him and hand him the needed tools. I was dad's little helper. When he'd go to his friend's ranch or junk yard, I would always be in the passenger seat with him. Both of us wearing cowboy hats and boots while listening to the oldies on the radio and sometimes singing along.

He was my super hero, my idol, my dad. He once told me to put down any form of imagination down on paper with writing and drawling to never forget what went through my head. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't think of my dad. The goofy jokes he'd tell, and the pranks he'd pull on us all. I know that some people aren't fortunate enough to have father's like I have, but keep in mind that not all of them are hard asses out to give you a hard time. Not all of them are monsters that aren't a part of your life. Guys, be there for your kids. Be there for them as much as possible. Be their super hero. Girls, make sure you find someone who'll be not only a be there for you, but be there for your kids as much as possible. My father was taken away on September 21st 2001. I was 13 years old, and suddenly lost without my father. The superhero I thought invisible had fallen. Cancer claimed his life in the early hours of the day before the sun can begin to rise. For days I was lost without my father. Days turned to weeks, and weeks into months. Eventually the months turned into years. Today's date marks when my human hero became an angel that won't be forgotten.

I love you dad.
