RP Starters (and other random writings)
He found he could bleed, could feel pain;
So, to rid himself of weakness, he cast what made him human into the darkness.

"Life couldn't be more perfect." Thought Thirteen year old Taylor Rayans. He had everything he could ask for: A loving family, A best friend that had always been with him through everything in his life, and he had almost perfect grades. For the past few days though, he had felt...off. Like someone was always watching him, but everytime he would turn around, nothing would be there.

His best friend had noticed this and had decided that he needed to spend sometime away from the tv and just unwind. They spent the day together after school, after checking in with both of their parents that is. They spent the day just being themselves, Taylor had even forgotten about the feeling of being watched, mostly.

As the day drew to a close, with the setting sun creating a myraid of colors on the trees around the two, they had started walking back to Taylor's house. "Hey, last one to your house has to the others slave all day tomorrow." His friend said before running off. Taylor laughed and ran after her, not noticing that the door to his house was already wide open.

Taylor stopped outside his house for a second, almost like something was telling him to stay out. He shook his head though as his friends scream filled the air, chilling him to the bone. Taylor ran into the house, and froze at the sight before him. His parents lay on the ground, bullet holes in their heads. One man stood over his best friend, her torn shirt in his hand. Another stood over his parents, talking into a cellphone. He could smell the smoke from the still hot gun barrel. The feeling came back, only this time the presence was right behind him.

The room faded from view, leaving only a complete darkness. Taylor fell to his knees, the darkness around him feeling almost alive, writhering. He looked up, seeing a figure form from the darkness. "What do you plan to do boy?" The figure didn't speak, so much as Taylor just knew it's thoughts. Before Taylor could really respond, the figure noded. "You want to save your friend, how noble. I'll tell you now, I can help you save her, but you will have to give something up in order to weild this power I offer." The figure offered it's hand, and Taylor, sheding away what little was left of his sanity, his last bit of humanity, took the figure's offer, all for the one he had to save, for the girl that could only be in his dreams.

She watched in horror as the man with the gun walked over to Taylor, raising the gun. The click of the hammer sounded through the room, so loud that she almost forgot about the other man who was pulling her pants off. "NOOOOOOOO!" She screamed, not entirely sure if it was aimed at Taylor or her atacker. Time seemed to slow down. She watched with tears in her eyes as the gun went off, and her best friend was hit square in the chest. The man with the gun laughed and turned away from his newest kill to watch his partner play with the girl. His partner had stopped trying to remove her clothes though, the man's eyes widening at the sight before him. He pointed at Taylor, who was now back on his feet. The man with the gun turned, just in time for Taylor to grab the man's right arm and twist it with a sickening crunch. "If you want to kill someone, make sure the job is done before you turn away." Taylor said in an odd, echoy voice. His brown hair seemed to kind of sway to a wind only it could feel, and his normally blue eyes seemed darker, almost black. He smiled, showing slight fangs, before ending the pathetic man's life.

His best friend was left in the aftermath, half-naked and scared to death. Taylor had moved to comfert her after the two were dead, but she had shied away from him. That was his cost, the one thing he had left he cared for. He mumbled an appology and ran out. Taylor was found a week later, dirty and hungry out in the woods near his house. His grandparents took him in.

~Three Years Later~

Taylor sighed, listening to the chater of the mindless idiots around him. The reaper had struck again, they would always say. That was the name the city had given him, and it just stuck. Some hated him, others loved him. He could careless, because he hated all of them. His eyes found the back of his former best friends head. She had made it a point to ignore that she had ever known him. To her, he was dead. Taylor perfered it that way, he could vanish without a worry in another year.
