I woke up to see a massive wood door towering above me. Guards stood on either side, swords at the ready. We rolled through as the doors slowly swung open to reveal a lively village that made a spiral up to a palace so high the tallest tower was hidden by clouds. It seemed just like the kind of things you heard about in fairytales when you were little, and don't deny it, you liked it. Every one was so happy. And I almost got lost in it.Then I remembered I was chained in a cart, possibly riding to my doom. Nice thought to have right? To my surprise, we rolled right past the market I had previously been intended for and continued till we got to the palace it's self. This couldn't be good. My captors got off the cart and went to talk with the guards that stood blocking the entrance. Every so often they would gesture or look at me, but other then that, I couldn't make out what they said. Soon we were moving again. We pulled up to a stable area and the horses were taken inside. I was gruffly thrown from the cart, my hands still cuffed. I looked up expecting to see one of the bounty hunters but instead my eyes met with those of a guard. "Get up, they are ready for the sentencing" He said, glaring at me "What?" I asked, hoping he didn't mean my sentencing. Of course he did. I was lead in side to a large room, seated along the walls in seats resembling bleachers were what I guessed were nobles. At the front on the room was a young man with dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed like they could see right through me. "Bring the criminal forward" He said dully, frowning down upon me. The guard pushed me forward and forced me to the floor. "For the crime of stealing both a merchant's goods and this silver necklace" He said holding up my necklace. The bounty hunters grinned. Goods? Goods? People weren't goods! "you are sentenced to one hundred years labor in the quarries" And with that I was taken to the dungeons. I was put in a cell that was guarded by a soldier. The cell was no more then a dank box with rats crawling around on the bottom. I knew I needed to talk to the young man who had sentenced me. If only I could convince him I was innocent. Then I got a plan. I supposed it was the only way to get a hearing around here.
