First it was about homepages, then it was artists, and now, it is role players.

This concerns THIS, yo.

Like holy shizz THEY CARE!!! Not that they didn't before, but it's a nice surprise and a big warm and fuzzy to see Gaia directing energy to support role players and role playing. I'm not just saying this because I'm a role player, although me being a role player is part of the reason I'm saying this.

*sidenote: Fireside chats are interactive chats between where users get to chat with Gaia's Admin team on a pre-decided chat topic.

Back to topic. What COULD Gaia do to help role players out? To be honest, this question has never popped into my mind before. I'm pretty satisfied with the Gaia RPing status quo for the most part, though here's what I can come up with off the top of my head:

• create a separate subforum for RPing guides so they're no longer mashed up with OOC threads. They would be easier to find, read and learn from that way.
  
  
• customizable role plays could be a consideration, as in having a front page with modules where you could put related links and relevant information in. It would be a forum role play with a guilds home-style first page and regular 15-posts/page setup for the rest.
  
  
• make a subforum for RP guilds recruitment/advertisements in Barton Town. I've seen people post their RP guild ad threads in Barton OOC and I'm saddened to know they'd be thrown in Guilds C&B, where undoubtedly fewer RPers would venture, leading to less apps to the guilds.

In any case, be sure to hop over to the fireside on Tuesday at 3 PST to check things out! I can't wait to find out what people will bring to the table.

I realize this might sound like a big advertisement for Gaia's fireside thing - what can I say? I'm excited. 8D I can't say many people will read this before the event anyway, so the chances of this journal being a Gaia billboard is probably next to null.

Well, that's about it for me. With this in mind, I'd like to hear from you what ideas you, your friends, your pets and your enemies alike have on what Gaia can do to support role players.

Yeah so check out the fireside on Tuesday!!! Or just comment here with your ideas. It doesn't even have to be what you think Gaia could do. It could be a remark on the fact that Gaia put some thought into RPers in the first place. Or whatever you happen to be thinking about RPing on Gaia in general. RPing off of Gaia works too. Anything RP-related is good. Yup.
