just watch me.
facebook status for now
I would absolutely love to post what everyone else is posting about how happy they are that it is the end of the school year and how happy they are to be home, but I can't.

with Aunt Chris gone, I don't want to post about anything else because that is selfish and not taking into consideration all of the pain my family is going through right now (which still hasn't hit me yet... I do not look forward to the moment it does). So I shall post my goings-on here.

So, I've been home since Wednesday night. I was trailed by a storm for about half the trip, and shortly after I got home, it turned into a severe (as in purple on the radar) thunderstorm right above our house. Inch-big hail (thankfully lonnie put the cars in the shed and barn), torrential rainfall, and a crapton of lightning and thunder made for an interesting first night of summer vacation.

It is hot. And the electrical outlets in my room don't work, which may explain why the air conditioner can't do anyting more than act as a bulky fan in my window. It is hooked up to an electrical strip hooked up to an extension cord hooked up to a plug-in in the hallway (which has an adapter on it, because it's not 3-prong). So my room is f-ing hot, and I desperately need time to clean it so I can get all my junk put away.

As of now, my carefully organized piles I made in the kitchen of my stuff have all been shoved in one communial pile in a dark, mysterious corner behind something in the dining room. ..... that's all of my laundry, my TV, my books, and some other miscellaneous things that I NEED to put away, but can't.

plus, my laundry's already getting mixed up with everyone else's, even though I specifically requested that not happen. THAT'S WHY I WAS TRYING TO DO MY OWN LAUNDRY.

So, I set out yesterday to try to remedy this. Had to bring lonnie to town to take his driver's test in the early afternoon (he passed it... now he just wants to drive everywhere), then went to Walmart, where I spent $140 on organizing stuff for this summer.

That includes a clothes rack, a shoe organizer, another organizer to hang in the closet, two laundry baskets, and a 3-drawer plastic thing for my stuff in the bathroom, not counting the other stuff. I shouldn't need the thing for the bathroom, but I do because when I left, the drawer where my stuff has been for years got cleaned out and taken over by Karen (who now has two drawers and two shelves for all of her s**t in the bathroom). And yet, they complain that I can't take up space on the counter... gee, something's wrong with that.

So I got home, started to realize just how dangerous and time-consuming this venture will be to fit in again, and discovered dad had made us a new tire swing. So we all went for a little joy ride (dog included- he liked it :]), had burgers for supper, and I started making a bag for karen for her prom (which is today).

the ungrateful p***k didn't even say thank you. I lost a layer of skin on my thumb (which looks like it's getting infected now) when I burned myself with the hot glue gun. The bag itself is adorable, with a giant blue flower on one side. the only thing I sewed was the two sides together, otherwise everything was hot glued haha.

then she wanted me to do her nails, which i biffed up the first time because i didn't clean my pens. (yep, I have a set of nail polish pens for doing decal work... pretty sweet, if I do say so myself xD)

so, karen has pretty nails (otherwise that was the most butt-ugly shade of purple I've seen in my life) and a pretty bag for her prom, and I'm missing skin on my thumb and have horrible cramps.

forgot to mention the time of the month started yesterday, too.... gonk

so now I feel like crap (the second day is always the worst for me), and that's not a good thing with everything else happening today, too.

Karen is getting her hair done someplace as I type this. I'm going to take a shower and head over to Shioko's, where I'm going to do Krin's hair for the occasion today. Then the grand march at 5:30, and when that's done, head to the funeral home for a visitation.

Aunt Chris chose to be cremated (which was done last night); no one understands why she wanted that, but she did, and some of the family is more than a little upset about it. Today there's a visitation thing from 5-8 (a family thing at 4), and the funeral/memorial service is tomorrow at 2.

and there's drama in this family, so I'm curious to see if anyone blows a gasket. One sibling and his wife have completely detached themselves from the family and until this point have had absolutely nothing to do with us, but now they want to help out. Grandma is getting dimentia, so she doesn't know what's going on (she forgot there was visitation today).

Chris was the one people could lean on for stuff like this. Already I caught myself thinking "Chris would definitely come, though- she's always involved in family things".... *sigh* her son is getting married soon. she's not going to be there.

... there are pictures up all over the house of family and friends. i never paid any attention to them before, but she's in a bunch of them.

she and her husband spent Easter with us here on the farm. She gave us a basket of pansies as a gift of spring. It's hanging outside.

How are we supposed to do this? Muddling through this kind of thing, while still trying to keep track of everything else...

Monday I'm going to town for a dentist appointment, then job searching (because even though i want a week off, mom says I need to get off my a** and get a job tied down before everyone else comes home). Organizing and drama at home all throughout the summer.

Yep, welcome home.
