I sit and watch,
as this world goes by.
All I've left is little will,
only enough not to die.
I lay here,
in this land of dread,
that only I, yes I,
could have brought upon my head.
Here I languish,
in both grief and sorrow,
as I lay head and wait for the withered morrow.
And though I look at this dreary life,
I may look back to where I had no strife.
A time with one I loved, loved among all else,
who would hold my hand through all trials,
as I would in turn, and never for myself.
I look back to those days, and my heart my soar,
even as it splits, without even a roar.
No roar of defiance, no scream of disbelief.
Just a simple fall, no a sink,
into the briny drink,
that crashes upon the sands of this wasteland.
With it in two,
my heart finds no piece,
only a life, fueled by strife and lies,
kept running on a thread covered in dyes.
This land where I reside,
with a perfect view of one I wished as my bride.
And though I take this hell in stride,
oh how I miss the one who was at my side.
Who filled my life with joy,
and filled my heart with love,
the girl who I see above,
In a heaven, no longer meant for me,
Yet still I hope,
and yes even pray,
that I might return to that land someday,
away from this pain,
away form this sorrow,
of watching her at every morrow,
and now I truly know,
what it is to see heaven... and be barred.
