another chapter wheeeee biggrin
After a quick nap, and getting the room number from Quincy, Arisa made her way quietly to Kale's room. Once she got there, she was surprised to see that no one was there. Somewhat relieved, she began searching through the room, wondering where it could possibly be hidden. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, her training kicked in swiftly. The pendant was nowhere in sight, but she did manage to find a few pieces of gold which she placed in her pocket. "Well, at least I'll get something out of this." She got up from the crouched position she had been in while looking through a drawer and began moving toward a chest on the floor. She only got halfway there, however, before arms encircled her from behind. Hands quickly grabbed her wrists before she could fight back and she struggled against the person, but didn't have much luck. He held her tight so moving too much was not an option.
"I knew you'd be back, I just wasn't sure when," Kale purred in her ear with a smile. She just knew he was silently laughing at her, especially about being caught. "You may be an assassin, but you'll learn it's very hard to thieve a thief. Or at least, a good one."
It took awhile for his words to sink.
"You know who I am?"
He chuckled, rather pleased with himself. "Of course I do, you're Arisa, one of the best killers in the business."
Arisa remained silent, struggling to get out of his iron grip.
"What? You're wanting to leave so soon?"
Arisa gritted her teeth as she felt his hands searching her pockets. "What's this?" he said pulling the gold coins out of her pocket. "Now you're stealing from me?"
"I want my necklace back."
Kale's face shone in amusement. "Does it look like I have it on me?"
She had to admit that he didn't since all he was wearing was a loose shirt and a pair of slacks.
"You know, the offer still stands, but I think I might up the price a bit"
Arisa had had enough. With all the strength she could muster, she pulled one hand free, and smacked it across his face.
Immediately he let go of her to clutch his face, and Arisa was up in a second, knife drawn and held precariously over his throat. Looking up, Kale only smiled. "Hey, it matters little to me whether or not you get it back."
Removing her knife, Arisa stormed towards the door, but a hand held her back.
"What are you so afraid of?"
Her only response was a fist to his jaw, and he was out cold.
Oddly enough, she had been asking herself the same question.
"Damn pride, now I only have a day left to find that necklace."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kale cracked an eye open to see if Arisa was still in his room, from a quick glance he could tell that she had long gone. He grunted as he tried to get up from his uncomfortable position on the floor, rubbing the very sore spot on his jaw.
"Wow, that girl has one hell of a punch."
(ugh I have writer's block... can't think of what to write next... any suggestions?)
