i miss you

reading your last post made my eyes well up with tears

you sounded so sad, so lonely, so broken

but we're not friends anymore, are we

we're just acquaintances at best, strangers at worst

because it's been two and a half years since we meant anything to each other, and a year and a half since we last spoke

i'm sorry you misinterpreted me, but i'm also sorry that i'm too much

too much for you, for anyone, really

too much time, too much effort, too clingy, too needy, too everything

i know you don't give a damn about me anymore but i would still listen to you in a heartbeat

i'd be your friend too if you wanted me to be

i know you said it's just not safe for us to be talking

but i think i was just too much for you and you didn't want to hurt me by directly saying goodbye

but i still miss you

and i'll always be here for you should you ever want me again
