A note on the anti-spam project For those who are wondering, after fixing Moga I've been busy working on a new project that will help tackle announcement spam. The project has two parts: First part is a reorganization of the announcement forum. - Main announcement forum will only contain feature, event, and community news - Subforum will contain sales related news - If there is a community announcement, it'll always be displayed before any sales related announcements - There will be a cap on sales announcements (5 or less) Second part is a dedicated page for showing discounts and other offers - one page showing all current deals so there's no need to click through messages - each offer will have proper links and update towards expiration time, quantities, etc - essentially, the bulk of what the sales team were announcing will be here instead of the announcement system moving forward. After a long decision process, we decided that the announcement system should be a place for important information that majority of Gaians would benefit from. If there are unwanted information, it should be our job to ensure that those information stay out of announcements and not have to ask Gaians to resort to disabling them. This, as well as many other projects for improving Gaia, is a work in progress, and we'll still have many changes and improvements to come.

I know this might sound like something different but turning the item promo into links to the marketplace would be like heaven sent to earth. The amount of work I have to go through to see an item that is being sold... highlight it's name.. go to another tab to search the marketplace... find out that's not the right item and repeat the process 4-5 times just so I can see what the item might look like on my avatar is a major disconnect from product to sale. I also see that the announcements have items that aren't apart of the sale paired with the new item and I still want to know it's name. It's not like years ago when you could easily keep ontop of all the items coming out. Now I buy based off of looks and if I can't find the name of the item easily... then I won't buy it. Just a simple a href would help out sooo muuuch.

I know a lot of people use the CGD to find these links but the fact that users have to supply links for these items should be a red flag that gaia needs to step it up....

Thank you for listening to us and giving us the sales page instead of the spam. Without the need for repeated sales announcements, a cap of 5 will be just fine. I'm excited to see the new page! I hope coupons will be there, too, so we don't need a coupon announcement.

One suggestion, for Gaia Cash sales.. Could we just have a constant % off with rare sales on holidays and just once in a while? I would suggest 30% off all levels. This would help Gaians decide to buy at any level at any time, without waiting for a sale or struggling against what level to buy because of different sales. More people would buy small amounts more often if it was the same price as higher amounts. This would promote more spending and more buying.

Ah, about time! emotion_yatta It's been three years since I've been putting up with the announcement man set by the previous CEO and I have trained myself to Ignore all announcements. Now that you'll reduce the spam, maybe I should re-train myself to open and read them. xd

Thank you so much for putting a cap on the sales anouncements.. I come home and clear 10 announcements then 5 minutes later I have 10 more.

Perhaps adding a [Ended] to the title of discontinued discount/promotions would help users if they were go into that forum.

I'd like to concur with True Karma. It's extremely frustrating sometimes to try to find the names of the items being sold, and then get somewhere you can try them on your avatar. Please, fix your sales funnel. Make it easy to get from advertisement, to visualization, to purchase. 1-2-3. On the same page. Or at the max, one click. You need paths of action and calls to action.

Also make it easy to find on the marketplace. If things are selling well on the marketplace, then vendors will buy them to make a profit, so it does benefit Gaia.

I actually read through all my Announcements as is, but this sounds like it will really help things stay a bit more organized and easier to go through.

THANK YOU in advance for the updating quantities and times! That has been a major frustration for me when shopping through the Announcements. whee

By any chance, do you think we could also get some kind of notice if an item is included in the Monthly Collector's Pass or not? I'm not the most familiar with what items, exactly, end up in the Pass or not and so I end up having to double check to make sure. redface

And lastly, I saw what you did with the Inventory Arranger Temporary Storage Box! surprised
