Artist: c. Alluvion
August 28, 2019
There's a kind of gravitas to this piece that draws the viewer in - the glint in her eyes, the blush of her cheek. The way c. Alluvion illustrated and colored the folds of her sleeves is impeccable, expressing a refreshing take on the traveller's design. (It's quite remarkable how each artist so far has interpreted the top in a different way!) The details of the golden dust particles and tassel belt moreover are a great touch.
But my favorite feature of this piece is without a doubt the hands. It's so hard to draw fingers, and this interpretation captures a traveller's hands perfectly. Her fingers aren't daintily feminine or pointed but gender neutral - square and purposeful. That all these details come together so cohesively to express this character testifies to this work as a masterpiece!
