This girl holds tight to her memories.
Holding them dear and in her loving chest.
She doesn't want to let them go,
She doesn't let them go to rest.
She lets them relive in her sleeping form,
Cared for by her dreams and goals.
Polished by her smile and held by her heart,
she never lets them go.
She remains strong and standing tall,
never afraid to show it off.
She doesn't care if they laugh,
She doesn't care if they scoff.
Their scorn she backs away from deep within,
she takes her memories and hides them away.
She sets them aside and goes on for a while,
before pulling them back, afraid they'll never stay.
She's afraid that the memories that strengthen her,
will soon be forgotten and disappear.
But what she doesn't realize,
is that she never had to fear.
Her memories would remain,
Deep inside her heart.
She'd never have to lose them,
nor would they be torn apart.
For they were held so fragile and dear,
to her hearts content.
She was never mislead,
for safety for her was what they had meant.
But later on in life,
She lost someone close.
And she plunged into depression,
and loved darkness the most.
She was shadowed from a deep secret,
She was forced into a bundle of lies.
She had only her memories to keep her happy,
and to hold back her cries.
And through the night she'd sit alone,
and wonder why it was she who was lied to.
In the end they had no full answer,
only that they did what "they had to do"
To prevent her from such heartache,
they kept it all away.
In hopes that she'd be happy,
they remained guilty with the lies they had to say.
Without that light to shine her way through,
the girl didn't know if she could take it.
Cut and beaten she didn't know where to go,
except let herself disappear or fake it.
With a heavy heart she put a smile upon her face,
A fake one that felt no meaning.
Being with her friends and never knowing happiness,
deep inside her heart screaming.
Is she dead or is she alive?
The lies are trapped inside and keep her eyes weary.
what can she do to be made to forget?
To stop her cheeks from being teary?
Perhaps a love and someone to hold,
or perhaps living a happy life.
Her wishes and dreams are tucked away,
beneath the pressure of the knife.
Her mother hated her after what 'she had done',
she had no place to hide, no one to turn to.
If they loved her they would've told her sooner,
so with that she took her life and flew.
(true poem, too. Well, most of it.. the ending is just how I feel deep inside.)
