Ch. 4 - Uncovering the Truth
"I'm not going," Sakura reapeated to her father as she hid under her bedsheets.

Alfeegi sighed as he ran his hand through his silver green hair. He walked over to his daughter's queen-sized bed and sat on the violet sheets next to her. He began to speak to her with a strong, loving voice as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"I understand that you don't want to go to school because of what happened to Chase and Kira..." Alfeegi started.

Sakura just shifted a little and thought to herself, You have no idea.

Alfeegi continued, "...but people expect that you be strong through their murder. Plus the murder of those two other people who were apparently killed by the same person."

Sakura lowered the sheets to just below her nose. She looked at her father's face to only see his tan skin, golden amber eyes, and his smile that gave the joints in his face very sharp angles. Frustrated with the fact that she can't say no when her father gives her that look, she threw the covers off of her.
"Fine! I'll go, but I won't like it," she said as she led her father to her bedroom door and closed it once he was outside.

Alfeegi walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. He silently laughed to himself. "She's seen that face so many times over the years and she STILL can't resist it," was the last thing he said before he began to prepare Sakura's breakfast.

"How many times do I have to tell you? I didn't do anything!" Lee said to the two police officers as another was up in his room investigating for any evidence.

"Yes, you keep repeating that, but we won't know until the invetigator comes down stairs and that we're only here on a hunch," the first investigator stated. "You caught your girlfriend cheating on you, sent all of your belongings to your aunt's house, and caught a flight from the other side of the country, and picked up by your Aunt Roseline to live in said house with her," the second officer repeated the claim he had received.
"Uh... okay. It does seem suspicious," Lee said as his Aunt Roseline walked into the room and placed her hand on his shoulder. "But it couldn't have been me. After I caught her with that son of a b***h, I went back to my parents, went to sleep in my room, packed all my things yesterday, went to the airport, and caught my flight to this town because I'm being transferred to a new school and I'm living with my aunt till I finish high school or until the summer where I'll spend my time with my parents," Lee finished.

"Well you've have quite a story there, but we'll have to confirm that with a few phone calls," the first officer said. Lee just smiled sarcastically and looked at his Aunt Roseline. She was smiling with a warm look of achievement at him.

Lee loved his Aunt Roseline and was actually looking forward to spending this time with her: she was one of the most sensitive, gentle, andbeautiful women he knew. She had skin that isn't very pale, but isn't too tan. She had long, straight, black and violet hair, but the one thing that made her beautiful was her eyes. Her red violet eyes that always made you happy just by looking at them. She'd had many suitors since her late husband's death, but had never found the one man that loved her for who she was as he had.

Just then the investigator came down the stairs after examining the rooms. The second officer said with much eagerness, "Well? What did you find?"

The investigator just looked at him and said, "Nothing. All the rooms are completely clean." The officer looked disappointed and dropped his head.

"But I did find samples of blood on the window. I'll take this back to the lab and test it to see if it's a match to any of our victims." With that the investigator walked out with the second officer following him with the same look he had before.

"Well, we better get going, then. Until that lab work comes in, we don't have a case. Thank you for your time and we'll keep in touch," the first officer said before leaving.

"We'll see them again," Lee said.

Roseline looked at Lee with a puzzled expression on her face. "Why do say that Lee? If they find out that the blood belongs to someone else, they'll come back and take you to prison," Roseline pointed out.

"I know for a fact that the blood doesn't belong to someone else. It's mine. I cut my arm on the window the day I got here," Lee said as he raised his arm to show the wound. "I was looking out to see if my bike was still okay in the lot, and didn't realize how sharp the edge was. Somehow, they're going to link that to me."

"Okay, Lee... Go put some ointment on that cut and get ready for school. Just because your not legally my son, doesn't mean that I can't order you around like your mom does," Roseline said.

Lee smiled and said, " I wouldn't have it any other way." He then ran upstairs to get ready.

Roseline walked into the kitchen where her coffee has been sitting since the police came. She sat down at the table and thought to herself, Does Lee deserve to know the truth? Should I tell him? No. I won't. He's so carefree and happy right now. I'll tell him the truth when the time is right.
