A Complicated Fate (Please Read & Review) [[ Thanks to my wonderful editor and co-creator, Sarete. ]]
Ch: 5 - Accidental Savior
Sakura stepped out of her father's car when they reached the school entrance. Sakura leaned through the open window and kissed her father goodbye.

"Goodbye Sakura. I'll be working all day so you're going to have to walk home or get someone to give you a ride," Alfeegi said as Sakura closed the door.

"Okay, thanks Dad," Sakura responded and turned.

"Sakura just one more thing," Alfeegi said abruptly. Sakura turned back around as he continued, "Miss Roseline's nephew just moved in the other day. He's going to be going to your school so maybe you should get to know him a little."

Sakura nodded and said, "Sure. I'll try." She then turned around and walked into the school building. Sakura was sitting in her least favorite class, English.

"We live in Japan, when are we ever going to speak English?" Sakura thought to herself. Sakura sat there with her head on her desk while watching her classmates walk in.

She yawned for about three seconds and when she opened her eyes she saw this new boy. All of a sudden images from her dream appeared. The boy went and sat down at his seat in complete silence.

"Okay, am I crazy or is that the boy from my dream?" Sakura thought to herself. She looked at the boy and noticed that the black hair, black eyes, and tan skin were exactly alike. Who else does she know that also wears a ruby earring in their right ear? This just can't be coincidence. Just as Sakura was about to go talk to him the teacher, Mr. Ichii, walked in and told everyone to sit down at their desks. Sakura grumbled, but did as she was told.

"Now before we begin today's lesson, I would like you all to meet and welcome our new student. Would please come up here son?" Mr. Ichii said. The boy shrugged his shoulders, got up from his seat, walked to the front of the class, and turned to face everyone.

"There's not that much to say. My name's Lee Slither, I come from Kyoto, I'm 16 years old, and I was transferred to this school by force." With that Lee went and sat back down in his seat.

"Yes...well... that was very interesting Lee. Now onto the lesson of the day," Mr. Ichii stated somewhat nervously.

All throughout class, Sakura listened to every word that Mr. Ichii was saying. She occassionally glanced at Lee to see how he was doing in the class. To Sakura's surprise, he wasn't even paying attention to Mr. Ichii. Unfortunately, he noticed this too.

"So, Lee? Would you like to read something for us in English?" Mr. Ichii asked with annoyed tone. Lee just shrugged his approval and went to the book shelf in the back of the room and grabbed a book. He then walked to the front of the room and showed Mr. Ichii the book.

"Romeo & Juliet? You honestly think you can read one of William Shakespeare's greatest works of English Literature?" Mr. Ichii asked.

Lee nodded and opened the book. He began to recite the very words that were in the book. He read line after line of English with such a perfect accent, you would think he was an English actor. Once Lee reached a point that proved his point, he placed the book back on the shelf, and sat back down in his seat. For the next few moments, everyone was in shock at what they just heard. Not only did he speak english fluently, he also acted it out with such passion it somehow just left them in awe. The bell than rang at that moment, and everyone walked out of the classroom.

Over the next few days Sakura has learned barely anything about Lee. All she knows for sure is that he is intelligent, talented in some areas, and was Miss Roseline's nephew. On so many occasions she has tried to talk to Lee, but he was always on the move. The one thing that disgusted Sakura about Lee was the fact that he made most of the girls around him fall head over heels without even trying. Sakura actually managed to talk to Lee on occassion and she tried to explain about the dream, but everytime she did Lee just looked at her like she was crazy and left.

One day, Sakura was walking home from school with her head down looking at the concrete. "Why doesn't he even think that I look familiar?" Sakura thought to herself. "I recognized him, but he just doesn't recognize me," She said to herself. She looked up and saw Lee walking only a few feet ahead of her. "I've got to try one more time," Sakura whispered to herself. She began to walk faster and said, "Lee, wait up!"

Lee turned around and silently sighed. "Lee, I just wanted to make sure. You don't recognize me at all? I don't even look like someone you saw in a dream?" Sakura said.

"NO!!! I told you before okay? I have NEVER seen you! Why do you keep asking me? Hey, you what? Why don't you go jump off a building and leave me ALONE!!!" Lee screamed at Sakura. Sakura just stood there shocked and broken letting her back pack fall behind her. Lee just turned and kept walking.

When he finally made it home, he entered the front door and threw his stuff onto the coach. He then went around and laid down right next to it. His eyelids then began to get heavy, "Well at least I know that I won't dream about her," Lee mumbled and then fell asleep. He dreamt flashes of scenes about the dream involving the unknown girl. Her face started to become clearer and when her face was visible Lee saw who it was: it was Sakura.

Lee woke up in a start and checked the time. It was 6 p.m. Seeing as how he did his homework at school, he grabbed the television remote and pushed the power button. It was on the news and they were reporting about a person about to jump off a building. When the camera zoomed in on her face Lee saw Sakura.

"Oh my God! She's actually going to do it!! If I had known I probably wouldn't have told her to," Lee said to himself as he grabbed his motorcycle keys and ran out the door. He turned on the ignition and drove off to the building. "I'm lucky this place is only a few blocks away," Lee thought to himself. When he reached the building, Lee got off of his bike and ran past the police tape. An officer yelled, " Hey! You're not allowed here!" Lee just ignored him and ran into the building and up the stairs. He ran as fast as he could knowing that if Sakura jumped, it would be his fault.

Lee ripped open the roof door. There was Sakura standing on the edge of the roof and about to jump. "Wait Sakura!" Lee screamed.

Sakura turned around with blood shot eyes and tear stains on her cheeks. "What you want a close up so that you know that I'm gone?" Sakura yelled.

"No. You were right. We did meet each other in a dream, but I never saw your face so I didn't know. I do now." Lee said in a calm voice.

"Liar! You're just saying that so I won't die and you won't get sent to prison," Sakura yelled.

"That's not true. I know who you are, Sakura," Lee said as he slowiy walked up to her. "I know that you tried to save me from the darkness and that I saved you too. If we were destined to meet, then let's start as friends, " Lee said as he held out his hand when he was close enough.

Sakura just smiled, grabbed Lee's hand, stepped down next to him, and saw Lee smile. "Just because we're friends now doesn't mean that we're always going to be nice to each other," Sakura said.

Lee slightly laughed and said, "It wouldn't be a friendship if we did." They then walked down the stairs together not knowing that by being together would string together a series of events that would change their lives forever.
