Save A horse ride a Red Robin server?!
Yep you can tell from the title that this post is going to be VERY intresting. So its the end of the night and Red Robin is closing down, servers that are still on the floor are doing their closing duties and ones that are off like me are on the patio talking with a couple other fellow servers and their signifigant other. At first it was just mild chit chat like how I must be crazy sitting on the patio with no coat when everyone else has their heavy winter coats on. I reminded them Im from Northern Illinois and that this "cold" is like a mild Autumn night in IL. And this is all fine and dandy when suddenly a fellow server looks up and out into the parking lot (which is uite a large one since were right across from a strip mall) and says "is that jon's truck?" And then Alania and her guy get up and look and then sit back down and acknowleged it was. Then they look over and notice that jon's girlfriend's van is there parked next to the reastaurant. Then Alania's eyes get huge and she starts looking over at jon's truck parked off in the distance. "No way." she said as she looked over she just for a moment saw two people in the truck but the other one dissapeared. Then Everyone starts freaking out. "Oh no no way I cant beleive jon is getting head over there but hes gotta be cause I dont see her right now but I know I just did" Alania said gettin up to get a better view. The server who originally pointed it out quickly said "dont stand up dont all look!!!" He frantically tried to get them all to sit down. just then the manager opens the door if asking if anyone had seen his key card and Alania opens her mouth and blurts out. "Jon's getting head over there!" My manager being the complete adult and the opitimy of maturity goes "really?!?!?!" with eyes wide and big like the kid who just found the golden easter egg at a hunt goes out onto the patio to get a better look. He then gets this big wide grin on his face and goes back inside meanwhile in jons truck not only has the girls head resurfaced, but it has resurfaced on the driver's side of the vehicle and it is now bobbing up and down. I of course am turning multiple shades of red as EVERYONE starts making a HUGE spectacle of it! Then ALL the remaining servers and line cooks AND the dishwashers come out to see because my manager went back in and told EVERYONE left in the building. We now have twelve people on the patio watching my buddie go at it in his little blue ranger pick up truck. Then everyone starts waving and the light in the truck goes on but jon and his little lady STILL dont see us and then the dishwasher (Here in Va all the line cooks and dishwashers are college by making a living while they go to school) comes out with napkins and I looked at my manager with complete terror in my eyes and said "oh no dont do that to them!" my manager responded with "quite he works for me now" so the dishwasher runs all the way down to the truck and knocks on the window and you see the window roll down and jon accepts the napkins. When the dishwasher comes back jons girlfriend yells something but we didnt hear it. we asked the dishwasher and he responded with "I dont know but there is fog everywhere in there and there's an imprint from jon's head banging up against the window." Everyone burst out laughing and then jon realizing hed been caught drove up and everyone applauded him as he and his girlfriend got out and came up to the patio and yes his truck windows looked like the london fog. But jon was a good sport of it and I sat shocked not knowing what else to say or do.
