Ch. 7 - New Face, Same Friend
Sakura just sat there against the wall, hands covering her mouth and tears pouring down her red cheeks, as she looked at Lee's mangled body. Every time Lee twitched, Sakura would just cry harder. She knew Lee wasn't well and hoping that he was fine was a complete waste of her hope. She couldn't stand seeing him hooked up to all those machines which were the only things keeping him alive.

A doctor with silver green hair and golden amber eyes walked into the room, not noticing Sakura, and walked over to check Lee.

Sakura jumped up, ran up to the doctor, and began pestering him with questions. "Dad, is Lee okay? Will he live? When wil he get out? Will he..." Sakura trailed off and began to cry on her father's shoulder.

Alfeegi placed a hand on his daughter's head and said, "Sakura, I'll tell you everything we know and that includes Lee's condition." Sakura lifted her head, looked at her father's tan face, and began to calm down. He took his hand off of her head and motioned her to sit down.

As soon as they were both seated, Alfeegi looked at Lee, sighed, ran a hand through his hair, and said, "We don't know much, but what we do know for certain is that something attacked him." Sakura's eyes began to well up with tears and Alfeegi continued. "Whatever attacked him had to have been considerably larger than him. He has been severely wounded and lost a lot of blood," Alfeegi said and then stopped as his daughter began to cry again. "Sakura, do you want me to continue?" he said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. Sakura lifted her head and nodded.

"The more severe of the wounds were to his abdominal area. While the other wounds were just infected from when he came down the mountain. He was lucky that that couple found him and went straight here. Any more time out there and he surely would have perished," Alfeegi continued as he looked at Lee. "You're very lucky person to have such a strong person as your friend," Alfeegi commented.

Sakura said, "No. He's not my friend." Alfeegi looked puzzled, Sakura lifted her head, smiled, and said, "Lee is and forever will be more than that to me."

Alfeegi just smiled and said, "Sakura, I know you want to stay here, but there are two other people here who want to see Lee." Sakura got up with her father, she gave him a hug, and walked out.

As Sakura walked out of the room she saw two girls enter Lee's room. All she really noticed about them was that one was tall with red hair and the other was short with light pink hair.

THREE WEEKS LATER.....

Sakura was sitting in her living room looking through her pictures of when she and Lee went to an amusement park. She laughed to herself when she saw the picture of Lee throwing up in a garbage can after going on a freefall ride three times after eating lunch. She then reached the picture of Lee and herself after Lee won a prize for her. She put the pictures down, turned to the stuffed dog sitting next to her, she grabbed it, and began to hug it. "Lee please be okay," Sakura said to herself as she picked up a photo of Lee. She smiled as she looked at Lee's smiling face and then the phone rang. "Hello?" Sakura asked after she picked it up.

"Sakura, it's dad. Listen, remember when I told you that Lee was supposed to have surgery about two weeks ago?" Alfeegi asked on the other end of the line.

"Yeah. What about it?" Sakura asked warily, trying to not get her hopes up shouold anything really be wrong.

"Well he's finally healed and will be returning home tonight," Alfeegi said.
Sakura's heart jumped with excitement at the fact that Lee will be returning home and more importantly, back into her life.

"Sakura, Lee needs to rest tonight so you won't be able to see him until tomorrow," Alfeegi said.

"Well, tomorrow is Saturday, so I can see him tomorrow," Sakura said.

"Yes I know that, but Lee won't look the same as he did before," Alfeegi said. Sakura was just to ask her father why, but her father said, "Sakura, I have to get back to work so I'll see you tonight." Sakura then hung up. She lifted the picture of Lee and sqealed in pure glee.

THE NEXT DAY......

Sakura was sitting at her vanity combing her hair. "I can't beleive that I get to see Lee again after over a month," Sakura said with a smile on her face.

As she was walking out of her room to go to see Lee, the doorbell rang. "Now I have to deal with this person," Sakura said to herself. She walked down the stairs in the exact same outfit she wore when she was with Lee at the amusement park. A pair of jeans with a red, orange, and yellow butterfly designed into it and a sky blue polo with a jean jacket over it.

Sakura opened the door and saw a young man standing there. He had crimson hair that reflected the sun light, light green eyes, and tan skin covered in white scars. He seemed so familiar to Sakura, but she didn't have the time to think about it. "Can I help you?" she asked.

The young man just nodded.

"Well could you make it quick? I have somewhere to be," she said in an annoyed tone.

He just smiled, laughed slightly, and asked, "Is that how you welcome a friend after he's been in the hospital for three weeks?"

Sakura gasped, knowing that voice. "It can't be. Is that you Lee?" she asked.

"Yeah, it's me," Lee replied in a whisper, smiling warmly.

Sakura ran up to him and jump to give him a hug. He caught her, gave her the hug she wanted, and put her down. "It's so good to see you again Lee," Sakura said.

Lee smileed and responded, "Same here. You're father told me you came to see me the day I got there, but that I was asleep the whole time."

Sakura nodded and asked, "What happened to you? My dad told me that you were attacked by something, but didn't know exactly what." Lee wiped the smile from his face as he began to remember the awful days.

"I... I don't know. All I know is that I was out there on the mountain and the next thing I know is that something burst throught the entrance of my tent and attacks me," Lee said.

Sakura walked up behind him, places her hands on his shoulders, and asked, "What did it look like?" Lee turned around, looked deeply into her midnight blue eyes, and said, "I don't know. All I saw was a black shadow with bright red eyes lunge at me."

Sakura placed a hand on Lee's cheek and said, "I'm just glad you're alright. If you didn't make it..." Sakura began to cry and covered her face in Lee's chest.

Lee wrapped his left arm around Sakura and stroked his right hand over her hair. "It's okay... I'm here for you... You don't need to worry anymore," Lee said in a soothing voice.

Sakura began to cry less, wrapped her arms around Lee, and didn't want to leave his protective arms. Lee was a sanctuary to her and she knew that whenever she was hurt, he would be there to protect and care for her.
