The Death of Love:


Lucis smiled brightly as she approached her new home, a mansion in England. It had been 2 years since the incident that she had blocked from her memory, she only kept one piece of the memory, a diamond necklace she never took off. She walked up stone steps of the mansion.


She opened the huge wooden door with a creak as her smile got wider. She loved this mansion, it always seemed so. . . perfect. She went up the ballroom style stairs, like one would go down in an entrance to an amazing masquerade. She went to her bedroom at the end of a long hallway. She saw the beautiful bed and the big window. She walked over to the window, looking at the coast line below, what a beautiful view, she thought as she continued to stare out the window.


Lucis sensed someone watching her and she turned quickly, only to see an end of a cape whipping away in the darkness. She quickly grabbed her gun which shot mini stakes. She moved around gently, checking the ceiling of the room. Nothing seemed to be there. She sighed and sat on the window sill.


A man swiftly came to her side, almost as if he had been sitting there for the whole time. She looked at the man awkwardly, she remembered him from somewhere, but he was a vampire, a sworn enemy. . .


How he had missed her so, but why was she looking at him in such disgrace? He felt a bit sad, did she not remember him? He couldn't wait to see her and when he heard of a vampire huntress was coming into the neighborhood, he had to be sure it was her. He loved her, and still did, it was forbidden, he knew, but he would risk anything to be with her.


He looked saddened as he brought his hand out to brush her cheek, she was quick on the gun, and without a thought she had it against his heart, her finger almost slipping on the trigger. He looked at her, now angrily. " You don..t remember me?!" He looked at her and hissed, " So be it!" He took his hand and angrily knocked the diamond necklace off her neck, the broken silver flied under the bed.


As much as she tried, she couldn't remember him or what they had together. She was puzzled how such a creature would know her as if they were intimate. Seeing his hand come close to her neck her finger brushed the trigger, a stake going into his heart as he was pushed back. " They will come for you," his last words were, as he then sizzled into a bunch of little ashes.


She still couldn't understand the feeling she had inside of her, she almost felt sad for the creature. She silently put her gun back at her side as took was stayed from the ashes. A small piece of fabric that he had dropped, a note was written upon it, his plan was to leave her alone, what had she done. . .


She picked up the small note and without reading it stuffed it in her pocket, she then went to find the diamond necklace under the bed. Her eyes gleamed in the dark as she was looking for the diamond necklace, but it was no where to be found. She didn't feel safe without it, she looked around the room nervously. She would have to find it later, she had to write letters to her neighbors, introducing herself, she was forced to have a welcome party, it was planned to be a beautiful, elaborate masquerade.
