My day improved significantly as it went along. We were fairly busy, so as it turned out I actually got to give my interpretation for the Randolph outbuildings several times, along with the usual mundane activities you have to perform when you work in the yard there (kids find grinding corn with the mortar and pestle a lot of fun, but I don't). Then, I went home for my lunch break and discovered my DSL modem and installation software had already arrived! I just ordered the service from Verizon yesterday, so this came as something of a surprise.
I still thought I'd have to wait to install the software and connect the modem; my original service start date was Jan. 2, and the label on the box listed Dec. 29. But after I got home from work, I found an e-mail telling me my service had been activated. So I got everything connected, installed the software, and I'm now downloading a 95MB file while suffering no loss in browsing speed. Plus I can finally watch YouTube videos at their actual speed, instead of waiting for them to load in 3-5 second chunks. Yeah, I'm enjoying this so far. biggrin
