I have left Shakura and Sheguyan in the capable hands of our new family member, Raven. Though, he came from being a slave, I now treat him as part of the family and a good friend to Shakura and Sheguyan.
I had entered a town called "Blood Village". Decrepit little town. Each house seemed worse for wear then the one before it. Very few people actually live here. For what reason, I can not say. There were a few pubs, inns and shops but nothing worth the affert to look at.
I had a meeting with 'them' in the far pub. They had found something that they wanted me to look at. Why they asked me above the others, I will never know.
As I had moved down one of the many unlit streets a house caught my eye. The lights inside were bright and the noises I heard coming from inside it were filled with glee instead of sadness. Laughter instead or crying.
I went up to this house, out of curiousity to see the people who lived inside and to see what reason they had to be happy.
It was a small family of both parents and 2 small children. They seemed very content with what little they actually had. They huddled together under a thin blanket and smiled at each other as the father seemed to tell a story of his travels.
Unknown to me still, a rooting anger began to grow within me. I had no reason for this, but it grew none the less and only got worse when the family laughted. Finally, they began to sing softly to each other.
What exactly happened next, I will never know.
I fear the written here. I fear some of you would take this out of context. Know this, that what I say next was never meant to happen.
I found myself standing just inside the doorway of that small house. The door lay shattered on the ground before me. The house was dim but I could see the damage I had done. The parents lay scattered throughout the house. The children...Oh those happy little children lay huddled together...without their heads.
What frightened me most was not what I saw before me, but that in my clenched hand I held the heads of the children.
I ran from the house, along the street and out into the forest. I ran for a long time, wishing the images in my mind would fade into dust. I ran as though the Devil himself were after me.
I buried those heads somewhere and prayed for forgiveness from them. I had not killed a living being since before Shakura and Sheguyan. I washed their blood from my body in a near by stream and destroyed the clothes I wore, including my shoes.
I found myself at home, an hour later.
Raven asked no questions as to why I stood before him naked. Instead he offered me his shirt with a turn of his head. Bless him, for he sent me to bed and said nothing after that.
