She's grasped the knife tightly and could feel the hot blood running between her fingertips. His eyes are wide. His beautiful blue eyes. She can see the pain dance within them and catches herself from swooning.
They fall together to their knees on the floor.
She lifts his quivering chin so she can watch his flame extinguish. In his pain, he reaches his fingers to grace her cheek, lifting her the tears she didn't notice from her cheek.
She lets go of the knife in his heart and pulls back.
"I forgive you." his eyes say to her and his smile, though pained and faint, is glowing with the love she so desperately tried to kill. She can feel her own heart wretch within her chest and has to remember to breath.
He collapses back on the cold wood floor. He continues to smile as his once flaming blue eyes turn burn-out.
"Stop it." she whispers, her own voice begins to quiver now. His body glows in the early light of day and his blood catches the sun, filling the room with a warmth she was unprepared for.
She fights back the strong tears and as the sun crashes through the window, she can feel the heat rising from her body. Her tears flow freely now and she looks up to the unwelcoming ceiling. She feels free somehow. Pain etches through her body but she she doesn't flinch. Giving a smile, she turns her brown eyes to the blazing sun and wishes she could go back.
