*~*Panda's Avi Art*~*
*~* WELCOME!*~*

Hello and welcome to my journal. Ordinarily, I would open up an art shop in the forums but why do that when you can just order art from a completely independent and freelance avi artist? I've done some avi art before due to some comment requests which I will show you all in a few moments. If you are interested in ordering; I'll tell you the easiest way to do so.

*~* ORDERING AVATAR ART *~*

Ordering from me is really, really simple. Just send me a PM saying what kind of picture you want. Give me a sort of reference as to what avatars or avatar looks you want me to do, what kind of pose, and what sort of props you want in the picture as well as what sort of background. Of course, a full height manga character with a background is going to cost more than a simple chibi screaming "YATTA!!" xd

*~* PRICE RANGES *~*

*cough* I am not very good when it comes to price ranges....If there's a problem with the prices I have up, let me know. Or, if you don't have gold but something you wanna bribe me with that's acceptable too. (My wishlist is on my profile btw 3nodding )
Note: I work in color if you want black and white or one color usage tell me

Chibis: 4-6K (?)
Manga: 10-15K
Couple Chibi: 10-12K
Couple Manga: 15-20K
Group (3 or more in a pic) Chibi: 15-20K
Group (3 or more in a pic) Manga: 20-25K
Background?: Probably gonna be 3-5K extra no matter what the pic

Like I said earlier, if these are outrageous, lemee know. sweatdrop

*~* PANDA'S ART TIPS*~*

It most likely isn't very nice of me to put this up but I'm going to put up some of my own tips anyway. You see, even if you're an expert, learning about other artists' techniques and what tips they have is always fun and an engaging learning experience. So, here are some tips that I have for anyone who cares to read.

#1: EYESIGHT
Make sure your eyesight is in top condition. When I was younger (several years back) I noticed how I had to push my paper further and further away to try and see it to even read it, write on it, or draw. My mom got me checked and it turns out that I am very far-sighted....meaning that I have to wear reading glasses to read, write, and draw.

When I finally got a good pair of reading glasses at the appropriate strength, I looked at my art and realized how GHASTLY it was in truth! So I picked up my pencil and began to practice even more. That is why I say: GET YOUR EYESIGHT CHECKED IF YOU WANNA DO ART FOR A LIVING!!! It is very important!

#2 Get the materials that work for YOU
The title really says it all. blaugh But what I mean is...You know how many expert artists talk about what materials they use? Well, you don't have to use the materials for your art like they do..Use what works best for you and that means you're gonna have to experiment through a lot of different techniques and style to find your own. It may get frustrating, but it'll be worth it in the end.

I like to use Ultra Fine black ink pens for lines and some Crayola brand color pencils. I am wanting SUPER fine pens since I work better using thinner lines and I'm not good with a nib pen. Also, I've been dying to try out some Copic markers with my art. They blend nicely and look great. Many manga artists use them. The first one that pops into my head is CLAMP but they tend to use Sepia fine line pens and copic markers instead of blank ink like myself.

#3 WIT-DLI??
I call this 'WIT DLI' short for: What If They Don't Like It? This is the biggest thing that will bring your hopes skyrocketing down to earth. Don't be discouraged and don't be concerned with what others think. An artist is their own worst critic; you have enough problems listening to yourself complain about your work so just tune out what others say, especially if they're doing it to get at you.

It's not a bad idea to listen to the advice from a fellow artist but don't worry yourself on whether or not people are gonna like it. Just do it because YOU like it! Don't restrict your artistic abilities to cater to others so that your art is socially acceptable! [/rant] LOL

#4 Do a little research
Now, this one seems confusing but let me explain. If you're wanting to do a certain style do some research on the art style, pick up some how to draw books, etc. so that you can see how others do it. Then, if you're still wanting to do that style, practice it. Your own tastes in art and various other things GREATLY influence how your art, writing, etc. style comes out.

So if you wanna try something different in terms of art style and technique, do some research on how to do it and/or what others do in order to get a good idea and some inspiration for your own art.

#5 LET YOUR INK DRY!!!
Some of you may not even USE ink but still....Let it dry! I work in pencil to get the sketch down then ink over it and let it dry before I try to erase the pencil lines. Sometimes I have an accident where one area wasn't entirely dry as compared to another and it smeared so horribly that I had to re-do the picture! gonk

So, if you don't want that to happen, make sure you leave your freshly inked picture to dry for 5-10 minutes. Sometimes 15 if it's big. sweatdrop

#6 Safety
Yea, I'm a dork when it comes to my art, even my crappy sketches. But because I love it so much I make sure that it's nice and safe which brings us to why I named this tip 'Safety'.

When you're done with your drawing or still in the middle of working on it be sure to put it in a safe place out of harm's way. Even if you live on your own and have a nice office/studio to draw in accident's happen, Loki's a jerk, and stuff occurs so make sure you put it away safely if you aren't working on it. And if you don't, you better be back to draw more in less than a minute so you can keep a good eye on it.

I have to be this picky on keeping even my crappy doodles safe because I have 2 younger siblings and 4 cats in my home who have messed up my work in the past. MY kitty, Panterra, likes to sprawl and lay on my artwork or writing just to get my attention so SHE can get petted. Once, she intentionally clawed my drawing because I wasn't petting her; I was off getting another pencil. Yes, she's a very jealous cat. That's why I say to put your work up safely or else something that awful may happen to you. xd

I hope all of you enjoyed reading my tips and I would love doing avi art or random commission art for you in the future. Have a good day. 4laugh
