For the first time in my Gaian history, my gold count went up into a five-digit number. Some of this gold is from the games (cards and puzzles) but most of it is earned by playing the market.
Yesterday and today, I've made some very nice goldsies buying and selling Syaoran's cloaks like crazy. The market moves incredibly fast, probably because the item is very new. Because of this, I've not only made some gold fast, I've also learned how the market prices fluctuate. This fast moving market has been a good opportunity for me to try out some nice tips in a tutorial I've stumbled upon, How to Make Your First 100k without Begging or Bumping. Basically, it's based on the same idea of buying and selling I'd already figured out, but the tutorial gave me some very good tips on how to be better at playing the market.
I know I should be patient and save the money, because money makes money, but I promised to give myself a treat when I reach the five-digit numbers. So I bought myself those grey leg warmers I've been wanting ever since I discovered Tektek. I even got them for 100g below the store price! So yeah, my gold is below the magical 10k mark again, but hey, I can fix that in no time. wink
Marketplace tips I found especially useful:
[x] Keep your gold in motion.
[x] Recent items (sealed letters, recent MCs, recent event items, and event items approaching their season) move fast.
[x] To quickly enter your password, either copy it into the clipboard so you can paste it, or let your browser remember it.
[x] Don't dump four of the same item on the market at the same time.

Gaia in a Newbie's Eyes
I'm a new Gaian slowly getting to know this huge community. This journal is about my Gaian journey: how a newbie sees the community, the economy and items, the avatars, and of course the people.
