Contemplations of a knight
So often lost in quiet contemplations, viewing the world through wolven eyes... This is stuff. Just stuff. Stuff fueled by video games, boerdom and hotdogs. Its my personal fanfic/drawing/poetry log now. Like what you see? Leave a comment!~ :3
End
The great creature staggered, giant talons clattering upon the floor as it took its final step. Tears shone in the one head that remained alive.
You really are the Requiem it said softly, blood pouring from its mangled jaws. The tears fell freely from its glowing eyes. Clowdenun! Skhaya wept the name with his final breath as thunder pealed overhead. And then, he fell. The ancient Cerberus was dead. And she turned, saddened. The death of such a wise and powerful animal tore her to her heart. And slowly, her most prescious memory was obliterated.
If only it hadn't ended this way. She said softly, gazing down at the enormous body before her. Thunder cried again, rain falling through the gaping, jagged hole in the ceiling, where the glass had fallen and peirced Skhaya from head to tail, the shards deep within his bleeding flank. And now he lay still, among the same shards that had aided to cause his demise. She shivered. Requiem now though she may be, she couldn't touch him. She couldn't reach around his bloodied throat and release the soul cage. She looked over at Folderon, her beautiful Folderon, who had his back against one of the black stone walls, his pale skin and hair making him seem even more wasted and ghostlike. His wing covered him, peirced with the same stained glass that had peirced the Cerberus. He peered out from beneath it.
I shall live. He said with a smile. Though it may mean losing the other wing.
She sighed in relief, still watching as the Cerberus lay still in a pool of its own blood, mixed with the rain. Quietly, she prayed that whatever was in the soul cage would free itself.
Is this how it is to end? A voice in her head asked. With you, here, wishing that your very life will free itself from a prison it cannot escape? Are you that ungrateful a child?!
She shook her head. No... she whispered.
Then what holds you back? Are you afraid of him, after everything he's done for you? What is it, you little fool?
She shook her head again. I don't...
Have you forgotten Lavitz?
She was silent, head hung in bitter realization. The Archaneon watched her mental struggle with herself, and slowly rose to his feet. Silently, he made his way across the room, to the dead Cerberus and crouched beside it. He stroked its pelt and reached for the pendant at its throat.
But some will must still have been left in Skhaya. Even though he was dead, one of the heads lunged at Folderon, who didn't reach his Flamberge in time. Indigo was there in a heartbeat, her spear slicing through Catoblepas' sinewy neck. She wound her arms around the Archaneon, holding him close, tears flowing softly down her face.
Speak to me, Folderon...
He was cold and still. And he didn't reply. Had the Cerberus destroyed him? No blood flowed from his mangled throat.
Do Archaneon live forever or are they truly just puppets for politicians and leaders to toy with? He was numb. Are friends really friends? And how do you know when you truly have one? Are they there to the end for you? Would they save you with their dying breath? He was silent for a moment, then slowly turned his head to gaze into her eyes. You are truly a friend. The only one I have ever truly known. He raised his hand slowly, with the soul cage in it. It is time I repaid the debt that I owe you. He put it gently into her palm. If only Archaneon could live forever... but I am so close to death, it no longer applies for me...
She trembled, her fist clenched tightly around the small cage.
Don't leave me alone, Folderon! She cried.
And she cruched the cage in her palm.
All at once, the wind whipped about the room, the rain stung their skin as it hit them, and the peices of the soul cage were blown away. The bare, naked soul in her hand levitated and was caught up in the gale. It settled on the ground a few feet away from the dead Cerberus, twisting and writhing with a blinding light, until it became the form of a man. She gazed at him without recognition.
Please... she begged. Save him.
His cold grey eyes watched her curiously for a moment, before he nodded. He stepped forward and looked at the Archaneon, continuing to watch her curiously.
He'll live. he said softly, his voice light and musical. It made her heart leap and she didn't know why. Despite everything you see, he'll live. Lyusifear Folderon has become the Requiem. And the Requiem alone can rule heaven high. He looked down at her and smiled. Do you know me?
She shook her head, looking up into those stone gray eyes. He was quite plain for a man, broad shouldered and muscular, with golden hair and strong, square features. But something about those eyes bothered her. Like they'd seen her entire life, and like they'd known her. The look within those eyes came from someone who was closer than a friend, closer than....
She paused, looking thoughtful. Was he a distant memory of her childhood? Or was he more than that. He seemed so familiar...
Your memory has abandoned you. he sighed. But I guess that's the way it is here... He reached for her hand. I know you know me. Somewhere deep in your heart, you know me. Take my hand... Indigo.
Indigo. That name. It was her own. Still holding Folderon to her chest, she reached out, and her fingers brushed against his. But who had given her that name? His hand closed warmly around her own.
And suddenly she knew. A moment later, he had his arms around her, her face pressed against the cold, rough metal of his armor. The heavy metallic scent filled her nose, along with the faint whiff of leather and hay.
My heart. He said softly. May we never part again.

Legend doesn't know what happened after that. Folderon was nursed back to health by the souls of the Ten. He took up the throne of Clowdenun, and became an Archangel, ensuring him eternal life. His wing still remains broken, the other still a feathered stump, and there are deep gouges in his throat, from the bite of the ancient Cerbeus Skhaya, caused by the leftmost head who named itself Catoblepas. The great monster was honored, given his own tomb where he would lie in peace forever, beside the grave of his beloved Clowdenun. Souls rejoiced and celebrated, and Folderon was a kind and just ruler to all. There was one thing he wished though. If only to see his friend, the one who had led him here to his throne. But the Raven haired Kuroi had disappeared from the face of the earth. No matter where his senteniels searched, they could never find her. Travelling all over dimensions, visiting her old haunts, and still there was no sign of her.
The Hurricane said she'd come to him. In his dreams. Karel of Orgel claimed the same thing. As did Lyude. She'd returned to those she had forgotten. She'd spent a whole week with the Shoy tribe in the merciless desert. But whenever Folderon looked, she always disappeared. She had started out as a warrior without a name. And now that her journey was over, she was still unnamed.
There must be a reason. He told himself. If she will see me one last time, she will see me.
And then she was at his side too. Winding her arms around his neck and stroking his white blonde hiar.
You're doing such a wonderful job, Folderon. She grinned at him. I'm glad that you could aid me. But I need to go. Far far away. It is all that is left for me to do.
wait! he cried. Have you died?
She shrugged a shoulder. Perhaps I have. It doesn't really matter, does it? I am only a girl, only a warrior and a fiend. I am not a powerful, Requiem anymore. But that suits me fine. I am glad that my path has crossed be back to... she trailed off, looking over her shoulder at the grey eyed knight standing a few feet away. Folderon looked too.
My true name is Indigo Slambert. She told him. Sibling to the legendary Basilian knight, Lavitz Slambert. He and I are closer than close. And it has been so long since I've seen him. We have years and years of catching up to do. Maybe I'll come back, once we're through. She smiled. But I have waited for all etirnity. I cannot wait to be with him any longer. And slowly she turned, walking into the arms of the great knight, who held her close, with a tenderness only a sibling can give. And then, they were gone forever.

Who knows what became of Indigo? That is the last that was ever seen of her. Some say she returned to Bale, to see the mother who had taken her in, to rest by the throne of the King she once loved. Others say she became a spirit of the battlefield, leading the brave and honest to victory.
And there are some that say she became a moonlit knight so she would be with Saramek again.
All her former friends have their own ideas to where she went. But they can all agree on one thing. Wherever she went to, wherever she was now, she would be at the side of that brilliant knight. Face to the sea with the wind in her hair, gazing out toward the sunrise with her beloved spear in her hand. They all know that she is gone.
But Indigo of the wind will not be forgotten.
