I went to Maine Tuseday with my family. When I say family I mean Mom, Dad, my brother, four little cousins, my aunt, Grandma, Grandpa, and my 17 year old uncle (also my fat beagle). We all stayed in my grandparents cottage in Denmark driving each other insane. I slept in a room with my three younger girl cousins (ages 9, 7, and 4). The nine year old has autisim and asks question upon question upon question about everything nonstop (my aunt says she's going to get a job for the police to interogate people. They'll be begging for mercy). She wakes up every morning at 5 to get dressed and go downstairs to see my dog, who is sleeping in the backyard. The seven year old is super smart and acts like she's 12, but she is very clingy and is an attention hog. The youngest is adorable, but she's four. She wakes up frequently throughtout the night crying for her mommy. None of them understand the term "shut up, i'm trying to sleep". So needless to say I was very tired all week.
We went to a parade for the fourth. It started 20 minutes late and went on for an hour and a half. It was so boring. When we got back my dad drove my cousins and I around the lake in Grandpa's boat. My boy cousin (11) is insanely spastic and takes 3 pills a day to help him calm down, but he still bounces off the walls (sometimes literally). He was sitting in the front of the boat with my brother (12) and I babbling away about Sasuke and Sakura (from Naruto) having babies. We were about to throw him into the lake when we noticed that it started to rain.
Now, when it starts to rain when you're in a boat going 40, it kind of hurts. The water was hitting our faces and it felt like hail. We turned around to go back to the house and it stopped raining as soon as it started. We looked back and saw that it was only raining over one part of the lake.
Then we saw something floating in the water, it was an inner tube (the kind someone sits in and gets tied to the back of a boat to be pulled around mercilessly until they fall out) that hadn't been there five minutes ago. We went over to pick it up and the owners came over to get it.

Right, so they came up to us in a little bass boat with sparkles all over it, and here we are in a nice chevy speedboat. We start taking off and one of the kids in the boat says, "Hey Dad, let's race them back"
All of a sudden, the thing is gaining on us, then it's beside us. Two seconds later it passed us as if we were standing still. It was terrible.
After that we found more random stuff in the lake including
2 tennis balls, 3 coke cans, a few sticks, and a loon. Also a few people that we think we alive... maybe.
Our cottage is right next to the lake and we have our own little beach in the front yard, but I didn't swim at all. i don't like water to begin with, add in the seaweed and all that crap floating around: I hate swimming in lakes.
I was listening to my CD player all the way home so I couldn't hear anything anyone said. So I was surprised when my dad stopped in the middle of the road. I look out the windshield and there are two huge turkeys crossing the street with about 20 baby turkeys (wht are they called? Turklings, turkletts, puff balls?). The two adults ran across the street really fast, and a few of the chicks were almost left behind, but then five of them jumped into the air and flew the rest of the way across the street O.O
It was frightening, really. gonk
