Karma Girl is a book by a lady named Jenifer Estep. i think that it's a romance book cleaverly diguized with a super-hero sheen, but anyway, on to the review...

Carmen Cole is an ace investigative reporter who has unmasked a round dosen of the world's superheros and ubervillains in three years(her first tw, Machinator&his "nubile nemisis",Chrusher, were local to her hometown of Beginings, Tennasee)
she is not just on a role,but on a crusade...she will allow no-one to be lied to &hurt like she was. on her suposed wedding day,she walked in on her fiance who was in the middle of sex with her best friend...&as it turned out, they were superpowered arc-enimies as well!

well, like i said, it's been a productive 3 years&not carmen is working in bustling,bright, Bigtime, New York at The Expose, one of it's 2finest newspapers.
her job this time:find out the identites of the hero-team, the Fearless Five, and their foes, the Terrible Triad. she sets to work...&she partially succeeds! F5 member Tornado is found out(his real name is Travis&he's a self-made millionare who runs a company specializing in alternative energy sources)

everything is going so wonderfully...until, in the middle of a party at the newspapwer in her honour, she gets a call from the chief of police...Travis,aka Tornado is dead. he just commited suercide.


six long month pass. carmen has been relagated to the sociaty beat(it'd be bad for business to fire her outright&the Expose does't want her to resign either)
on her way home from attendig&writing about some fancy function where they served flat champagne&sthors-de-vous...2 men kidnap&knock her out. when she wakes, she's n the secret hidout of the Terrible Triad&their leader,the telekinetic Malefica, has a proposition for her...unmask Striker of the Fearless Five in 1month...or get to be the first humen test-subject of lady Malefica's cohorts'(Frost) new pet project.

now all that carmen has going for her a couple of feinds, the voice of her contience that is never wrong...and karma.
