"I don't know..." I said. "Come on, Masumi." Emiko asked. "You have to come to Emiko's party!!" Kasumi added. "Yeah! It's gonna be a costume party! You'll love it!" Emiko said. "Okay.... I'll go." I replied as I walked up to the porch. "Remember, it's at 7:00!!" Kasumi yelled. "I won't forget." I replied as I walked in my front door.
"Hi, Mom."

"Hey, Masumi. How was school?" She asked in a robotic tone, as if rutine. "Good, Mom." I replied. "I have to go get ready for Emiko's party tonite." I shouted as I ran upstairs. "Okay...." She emotionlessly replied.

I went into my room, dropped my books on my bed and got my costume. "I'm glad I got you early." I said to my costume happily. I slipped off my school uniform and put on the dress and laced the black ribbon in the boddice. "There." I said gleefully. I twirled around in my dress and put on my heels. Then, I put on a small pendant that hung from a black ribbon. My entire costume color scheme was red, gold and black.

"Beautiful." I spoke as I stepped toward my mirror. I looked at the clock on the wall. "Oh! It's 5:00 already! I'd better head over to Emiko's! She and Kasumi will be waiting for me!!" I thought as I ran down the stairs and out. "Hmmmm.... It's dark out already...." I said quietly as I slowly walked to Emiko's house.

"Wow... There's a full moon, too. Emiko sure picked a night to have a Halloween costume party." I thought. I walked up to the steps and knocked on the door. "Hey! Masumi! You made it! Great costume! Vampiric!" Kasumi said as she welcomed me in. "Hey! Masumi! Get over here!" Emiko yelled. "Help me put up these banners. Oh, and nice costume, you'll totally win the costume contest." She replied as she handed me the other half of the 'Happy Halloween!' Banner. Kasumi was hanging up streamers.

"So how many people are coming?" I asked. "Oh, Like 50-100 people, I'm guessing." Emiko replied. "Really? 100 people? That's too many!" I said. "Relax. You'd be the life of the party." Kasumi said. I nodded nervously. "Okay, it's 6:30. People will be coming soon." Emiko warned. We all finished up and waited for a second, the doorbell rang. Kasumi went to answer it. Floods of people came in.

"Are you sure you invited only 100 people?" I asked. "Okay, so maybe I splurged abit." Emiko replied. I sighed heavily. Now, it was about 8:00. Kasumi and Emiko and I were staring at a boy who had been standing there by himself for the past hour. "Emiko, did you invite him?" I asked. "No, I didn't. Who is he? Any ideas, Kasumi?" Emiko asked. "Never seen him before. But he's cute. Masumi go talk to him." Kasumi replied. "What? Me? Why?" I asked. "Because you have the same costumes, hair color, and you don't even have a guy you like, you can't even talk to them." They said in unison. "But...." I wimpred as I was pushed into him.

"Eeee!!" I squealed. "OHMYGOD, I'm so sorry!" I said. "No worries." He replied with a smile. I blushed alittle. "My friends pushed me into you cause we were watching you and we thought you were cute, cause your hair and eyes and stuff and they pushed me....yeah...." I babbled as I wrung out my hands. "Don't worry about it he replied brightly. His eyes wandered for abit until they landed on my pendant. I grabbed it and asked if he was okay. "Um.... Are you feeling okay?"

"What?...Yeah I'm fine." He replied. "So...." I offered. "Yeah..." He replied awkwardly. "He looked me in the eyes. "Do you wanna go out back with me, where it's more quiet?" he asked shyly. I nodded as he lead me out to the back porch where he leaned on a rail. "It's a lovely night out, isn't it?" He asked as he looked at the moon. "Yeah, look at the moon, it's beautiful." I replied. He stepped closer to me. My hair was blowing in the wind. "It's not the only thing that is. Your hair is like the night sky dark and your eyes are the diamonds, the stars in the sky." I blushed deeply.

He stepped even closer. I could feel my face getting hot. He smiled as he blinked his eyes twice. I started to feel sleepy and fell back on a wall for support. Once again, he stepped closer and placed his lips on my neck and bit down hard. I felt a sharp pain, then darkness...
