As the zombies began shambling closer, Guardian moved closer to Arena, trying to act as a shield. "Mistress, stay near me. I will get you out of this place."
Arena didn't like the sound of that. "I'm not leaving without you." Guardian wasn't the type to try and sacrifice himself unless it was absolutely necessary, and Arena never let him. Somehow, they'd survived this long, they'll survive now as well. She had faith in that.
Thunk! An arrow lodged itself in a zombie's skull, and the corpse dropped. Arena and Guardian looked about for the archer, but the swarms of the dead were blocking their view. Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Three more dropped. It seemed either the hidden archer was either a very good aim or a very poor one. Guardian moved in on the zombies, swinging his warhammer mightily. He was banking on the former.
