Shadows Twilight Entry - (Part of Crymson / Taunara's past.)

Taunara walked in the darkness, she felt dizzy from lack of feeding. The B***h had never showed her how to feed, and now she was near starvation. "Papa.." she cried as her stomach clenched making her fall to the ground.
"Well, I guess you are not completely like that weakling father of yours." She remembered the words her mother had spoken. Her father had been a Variant, for that her mother had hated both him and Tauna. But she was not so lucky as to take after him when it came to that. The woman had told her nothing of how to feed.

She felt the tears fall from her eyes as her claws dug into the soil... Gods, take me now! I'd rather die from the sun than this empty suffering. She prayed silently. A shadow fell over her. She looked up, backing away frightened. The boy was tall, his hair silver flowed freely around his shoulders. Tauna shook, afraid of him, afraid what she might try to do. His violet eyes were soft when they met hers. "Why do you fear me? I've done nothing to you." He said

Tauna looked away, the tears clinging to her cheeks, "Please leave..." she pleaded. She didn't want to end up attacking him when he seemed so nice to her. He kneeled down beside her, lifting her head. "Do not be so afraid of your nature, Taunara. I have no fear of vampires."

Tauna's mouth dropped open in shock. He knew what she was...and her name. "What...How...Who are you?" She asked her voice quivering. He smiled softly at her. "My name is Matias, little vampyress. Answer me this, why haven't you fed?"

She looked away from him. "I don't know how." she said lowly. "Sephera is cruel not to teach you the ways of feeding. She is even crueler not to be a true mother to you. But, you must not be afraid to take blood." He said, removing his coat. "Tauna, if you do not feed you will die."

"I can't, I don't know how. I'd probably hurt them." She cried out. Her mind was racing in confusion and hunger. She would need to feed or she would die, this she knew. But she was afraid.

Matias unbuttoned three buttons of his shirt, exposing his neck. "Feeding is instinctive, Tauna. After your first feed you will know what to do with no worry." He grabbed the girls shoulders. "Take my blood."

She shook her head fiercely. "I...can't." She sobbed. He wiped the tears from her eyes. "Listen to me, do you really want to die like this? Do you really want to have that woman think she is right about you?" He embraced her. "Take my blood, Taunara. It won't hurt me." He placed her lips against his neck.

Tauna was scared, confused and hungry. She felt her fangs extend as she heard his blood flow through his veins. I know I shouldn't she thinks opening her mouth. But right now...all I want... Her fangs touched his skin. is someone to protect me She bit into him.

She drank, deeply for a few minutes, finally pulling away as she felt her strength return. She fell into his arms. She grabbed his waist fiercely. "Please..." she said slipping into unconsciousness. "Don't leave me..."

Lysander held the girl as she passed out. Thoughts of what was to be done going through his head. He lifted her, carrying her in his arms. "Don't worry, Taunara. " He said, his violet eyes flashing in the moonlight. "I won't."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He carried the girl to his keep. Gods knew she shouldn't be at her own house. He had found out enough about the girl's mother from Tauna's thoughts. Enough to want to send the woman to the brink of starvation herself.

Again he looked at Tauna, she didn't look younger than eighteen in human years. A later one than most vampires were when they first started to feed. And she'd been stuck in that house, with that woman for over twenty years of her life alone.

Lysander's eyes narrowed at the thought of the woman turning her back on her own child. Her own flesh and blood. He controlled his anger, most of it directed toward the Vampire's Society. Yes, they needed to repopulate. But by forcing them against their heart's Bond or their Soul-Mate was asking for trouble.

He laid the girl down on the guest bed and walked over to the window. The blood moon was soon to come. He didn't have time for that. He turned to look at the girl. She had turned over and curled into the fetal position.

"D**n you, Sephera." He muttered. He walked over to her, waving his hand over her face. Maybe she could at least sleep peacefully for the next few hours. In the meantime he had something to do.

He went to the Vampire Council. One of the guards stopped him. "What's your purpose, outsider?" He asked. "None of your d**n business. " Lysander replied. "Saur, stop questioning the Reaper." a voice said as the door opened. "Lysander it's been a while." Upon hearing the name of the Lord of Reapers mentioned Saur turned very pale.

The man stepped aside, allowing the Reaper in the building. "How are you doing, Lysander? Last I saw of you, you were starting up trouble getting some of us to join into that school you made. I hear it's doing fair." "Yes, if you consider most paranormal species having joined fair." Lysander stated. "I know you are not here for idle chat. What has your mischief brought us this time?" he asks, leading Lysander to the meeting room.

"Do you know of the Vampyress Sephera?" Lysander asked. "A Noble, Pure-Blood. She does not seem as one to cause you trouble, though." the vampire answers. "I wish for her daughter to be removed from her care." The vampire almost missed a step. He turned to the Reaper. "Do you know what you are asking? Not only would a Reaper be taking a vampire, but you wish guardianship on the child?"

"The woman is no mother to the girl. We both know the union creating her was neither of love or happiness. She almost died of starvation because the woman did not teach her." "Your proof?" Lysander's eyes flashed " You question my knowledge, Aurum?"

The vampire sighed and looked toward the room. "The others will not be so easily convinced, Lysander. The girl is under her mother's care, has been since her father Traedyn's death."

"She treats the girl as a stranger. If I hadn't noticed the girl tonight she would have died. Do you wish the population of your people to drop another life because of one womans heartlessness?" Lysander asked.

Aurum looked at Lysander. "They would still be weary of putting her in a Reaper's care." "She wouldn't be in my care. I would just help her with the basic things she should have been taught. She would be her own guardian." Lysander stated.

"For you of all people to bring this to us...Not everyone betrays others." Aurum said. "Yes, but when they have their own problems it's hard to help the one who gets betrayed.

Aurum turned away from the room, Lysander already knew his vote and he was needed elsewhere. "Thank you, Aurum." Lysander said. The vampire continued to walk out. Before the outer door closed he voiced himself.

"Good Luck, Cousin."
