I feel sooooo smart! We just got Yahoo DSL and it's been ******** up. I shut the computer off Sunday night and turned it on Monday. When I turned it back on the 'Broadband Link' light was orange instead of green...

I tried unplugging a couple of the wires then plugging them back in since that worked on our old internet thing which was cable then I looked at the plugs underneath the comp desk, they were all plugged in. I tried restarting the comp. Nothing. I went into Desktop then into Internet Options to check the connection, it said it was fine.

I was so pissed I wanted to bash the thing in with a sledge hammer. Heh... when I don't understand the cause of what's wrong with something and can't fix it... I get very easily annoyed and pissed with it. sweatdrop

Then, I consulted the little pamphlet they gave us. Couldn't find anything in there so I called two of the numbers that it gave for help.

The first number was, or course, a machine which began giving me options... I probably could have lived with that, it's just... I didn't know which category my problem would be under... because from the three choices she gave me, neither of them sounded helpful at all. But then again, I'm not that computer-literate.

The second one was, you guessed it, another machine which wanted my account number... now... at the time I had no idea what that was because my dad is the one who set all this up with a friend of his. So, I hung up before it could go any further.

After that, I just gave up on it and walked off to start chores.

Having done four loads of laundry, I came back in to find that the orange light was still laughing in my face.

Turning on some music, I sat down and began to play solitare. After about two games, I began to look through the box all this DSL stuff came in, thinking maybe there was a bigger manual in it... there wasn't. Then, I began looking through desk drawers until sure enough, I found it!! THE INSTALLATION DISK!!!

I popped the sucker in and went through all the s**t. By the time I had to restart my comp and type a couple more things in... THE GREEN LIGHT WAS SMILING AT ME ONCE MORE!!!! I WAS SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!

And all this is why I feel that I am THE SMARTEST GIRL ALIVE!!!

Please people... humor me in this department... I flunked art last year, ok. Let me enjoy this while it lasts.
