My Avi's Backstory, Pt. 2
As Jibiki neared the back of the store, the feeling of being dragged along by some unknown force was getting stronger. He was almost to the back when something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. He walked over, transfixed by the strange glow coming from around the corner of the bookshelf. He rounded the corner and saw it was a large bottle with a golden rope, little more than a thread, linking the top and bottom. A strange gas was inside it, giving off a faint glow. But what was glowing the most was a small round object that looked golden-yellow and was...floating. As he neared the objects, the ball, he saw, looked more like a moon. He stepped up to the objects, not noticing that the shelf they were on was exactly the right height for him, and reached a finger out towards the moon-like object. His finger had barely touched it when it leaped from it's spot and flew in small, quick circles above him. He stared at it with his mouth hanging open dumbly. He then remembered the other object, the bottle. Fausto's Bottle and Hermes' Moon... he thought. He then recoiled, as if something had physically slapped him. What? How did I know that? He shook his head and muttered to himself, "I must be going crazy..." He then took the bottle's strap and slung it over his shoulder, finding the string to be stronger than it looked. He looked up at the moon, now seemingly calm and hovering in one place, saying, "You coming or what?" The moon just sat there, bobbing almost imperceptibly up and down. He began to walk out, thinking he was done, but the odd pulling feeling persisted. "What now?" he asked the air. Getting no response, he turned and headed futrther back into the store, the moon bobbing along behind him.
