My Character's Backstory, Pt. 3
Jibiki continued to go further back into the store, the pulling sensation growing ever stronger. He made many twists and turns he wouldn't have made normally, and eventually got to the very back of the store. He stood where he was, open mouthed and amazed at how high the ceiling was. He hadn't noticed it before, because there was little light in the store, but the ceiling had to be at least three times the normal height. He turned his head right, then left, and saw another strange glow, this one a small, pulsing blue. He walked over to it and was about to pick it up when he heard a low growl from behind him. A chill ran up his spine and he thought to himself This is it I'm going to die here in this run down store and no one will ever find me and-- The growl sounded again, but he didn't think it was a malicious growl. For some reason he thought that whatever had growled wanted to be let out. Makes sense, he thought. I wouldn't want to spend any more time than I had to in here, either... he turned slowly, as if the growling thing could leap out and grab him at any time. Another growl made him freeze halfway, but he convinced himself that it was another growl pleading freedom. He turned all the way and saw three cages in a neat little row, taking up the space of what would have been about three or four shelves. Inside the cage on the far left, a wolf that was as big as he was sat on its haunches, staring at him. "Fenrir?" he didn't know how he knew it's name, it just popped into his head like the moon and the bottle. At the sound of its name the wolf stood on all fours, crunched a bit in the cage. It stood there, panting heavily, waiting for Jibiki to set it free. Jibiki reached out with a tenative hand, and recoiled as the wolf barked. He steeled himself one final time, then slung the cage door out in front of himself. The wolf immedeately jumped out and bounded out of the store, not even giving him a second glance. Jibiki shook his head, thinking, When will it all end? He turned back to the glow to find that it was a glove, with a small blue stone emmiting its soft light without pause. Again, the object was a t eye level, and when Jibiki took it and tried it on, it fit snugly on his hand. The second it was all the way on, the stone faded. The pulling sensation finally gone, Jibiki turned and left the store called G.C.S., hopefully once and for all.
