Contemplations of a knight
So often lost in quiet contemplations, viewing the world through wolven eyes... This is stuff. Just stuff. Stuff fueled by video games, boerdom and hotdogs. Its my personal fanfic/drawing/poetry log now. Like what you see? Leave a comment!~ :3
Morning
Bright morning sunshine. Warmth and light splattering the city square. It was too early for anyone to be up, especially on a lazy day like this. Indels castle seemed to be flooded in a golden glow.
Or at least, that's what Lavitz seemed to think from where he was sitting, high on the roof of his manor home. Indigo, halfway up the bookshelf ladder, tray balancing on one hand, watched with a slight frown. It was usual to find him missing from his room so early in the morning, usual to find him just... sitting up there, on the roof. But she never knew why. But then agan, she supposed she never asked. With an inward shrug, she attempted to clamber her way up without dropping anything on the tray, or spilling anything either. Thusly, she failed and ended up, clinging as best she could with only one hand and two feet to aid her.
"Care to help me with this?" She called, storm grey eyes, wide and imploring. The knight looked over his shoulder at her, from where he had been sitting with one knee drawn up to his chest, the other dangling just over the edge of the rooftop. He let out a soft 'oh!' of surprise, before scrambling to his feet and rushing over to her. Leaning through the window, back into the sleepy interior of his home, he took the tray from her hands and waited patiently for her to pull herself up on top of the bookcase. Sighing in relief, she dropped to her knees, gazing up at him. He stared back, calm as ever, not bothered in the least that she had suddenly intruded upon him and his thoughts. Indigo sighed. He hadn't even changed yet. Sort of. He was still wearing that tattered green sleeveless he'd slept in the previous night, but he had most of his uniform on. Minus the armor and the fact that most of that dark green leather he wore was up around his hips instead of over his shoulders. It was... odd to see Lavitz so casually dressed, even though it was still early in the morning. Though looking at the expression in his eyes, he probably wasn't surprised to see she wasn't ready either.
"You should have been changed by now, Indy..." he murmured, holding the tray out to her.
"I should say the same of you, sir knight." She replied, shaking her head. "Look at you! Half dressed and in the sunshine!" She took the tray from him, poking him squarely in his broad, muscular chest. He chuckled, pulling back and sitting on the window ledge.
"I wanted to enjoy the sun." He smiled over at her as she came to sit beside him. "Just before I came back down to wake you up and get you ready."
"You're having enough trouble getting yourself ready." Indigo growled, toying with his sleeve. She leaned over, resting her chin on his shoulder, making him chuckle. He was quite a bit taller than her, making it quite a stretch on her part. "Where would you be if I wasn't always chasing after you, hm?"
"I should be saying that about you, not the other way around." he growled, trapping her against his side with a hug. She squeeked, pushing at him, trying to get him to loosten his grip. He only laughed. And then she was laughing too. And pretty soon, he had her wrapped in a hug, the two of them giggling like children. She grinned up at him, and he smiled warmly back down at her. With a sigh, the two of them turned their attention back to the castle in the morning glow.
"Another day, huh?" Indigo mumbled, wrapping her arms around his neck and watching the sun sparkle off the many turrets and towers.
"Another day." He echoed with a nod, bringing one arm up to support her. He glanced down at the tray. "Coffee?"
"No, I brought tea this time..." She mumbled, sliding off his lap. "I know you, you're not the sort of person who would prefer coffee in the morning anyway." She blinked, watching him through half closed eyes and taking her own cup. Lavitz took the one that still remained on the tray with a slight frown. How quickly her demeanour could change, just like that in an instant, all provoked by a single question... she reminded him of himself. He smiled and took a sip. It wasn't too bitter, but it wasn't great either. Nonetheless, he bit back his grimace and sipped it slowly. Indigo, taking it as a good sign, sculled her tea in one scalding gulp. He could hardly believe her sometimes.
Listening to her cough and gag was worth the laugh though.
Another day...
He looked towards the castle with a smile. Today would be good. Just as it had always been.
