(Child of the Advent)

Over 1000 years ago when Sin first appeared and destroyed my home (Zanarkand) I was charged to follow Yunalesca, and her guardian on their quest to stop Sin. But I failed, Yunalesca had to sacrifice herself to stop Sin, and I am forever serving a sentence of punishment. The Fayth Zalera and Ultima decided that I Rael was to be punished for all eternity. So they created the children of change (Adventists), we are charged for watching humanity as they march to their death. My father and Mother thought it would be for the best that only when Sin was permanently defeated would I be free from this torture. I watched over the people of Spira during the first calm, and then one fateful day Sin returned. I then decided that people were not strong enough to defeat the great manifestation of darkness on their own so in a way I helped them, but also hurt them. The ones who refused to be sheep and die the way that thousands of innocents have, became the summoners that followed in the footsteps of Lady Yunalesca. I charged them with the responsibility of defeating Sin hoping that one day one of them could find a way to permanently destroy the beast forever. I watched for centuries as summoners and their guardians took to the pilgrimage the greatest test of their minds, bodies and most importantly their hearts. Each Pilgrimage ended the same the summoner sacrificed themself and the Calm began, again, and again, and again. I knew that this horrible cycle would never end. Then I caught wind of a summoner who killed one of the Maesters of Yevon, so I had hope that she the daughter of High Summoner Braska could find a way to permanently destroy sin. So I waited on the top of the City of Bevelle, I knew that she and her guardians would be the ones to free me. I continued to watch her as she turned her back on the teachings of Yevon. But I still prayed that the Fayth helped her through her journey. Finally she reached Zanarkand and refused the Final Aeon, my hopes crumbled before my very eyes. I couldn't believe that she would refuse the help. Then I noticed the pattern summoners who call the Aeon do not KILL Sin. They only bring the calm. I was furious, but I decided to wait it out and if she couldnt find a way to defeat Sin I would have to further motivate her by destorying everything she held dear.

Lady Yuna and her party defeated Sin that night but the Fayth disappeared along with it. I had no way to free myself from the chains that forever binded me. Mother and Father were nowhere to be found they disappeared as well. I was angry now I had no way to be happy. And Yuna was just so peachy, she had the love of her life and I was still a slave to watch people live their lives. I drew my blade, and attacked Tidus. Everyone screamed as I easily overpowered the swordsman, and murdered him. Only Lulu could think to react she struck me down with the strongest magic spell that she could muster and it stuck me full on in the back. It threw me off the airship, and I plunged towards the Ocean, where I should have died. I was lying on the ocean floor when a darkness beckoned to me, it said that I could be free from Spira, and have a new life so I swam into the darkness with the little strength I had left. And found myself in a land that I now know as the Radiant Garden. With a man in a cloak standing before me.
