Born under the sign of wisdom, you are intelligent and wise, naturally charming and popular. You are very attractive and can lure people like a magnet. Although it is hard to describe, the Snake definitely has that certain something that makes you so alluring and sexy. Different from the Snake who seduced Eve into sin, the Snake in Chinese astrology is not evil or dark, but is, in fact, a sexy, normal human being.
Unlike the Rat and the Monkey, who tend to talk without taking a breath, you prefer to be the observer in any situation. Quiet and reserved, communication and negotiation are not your strong suit; instead, you are quite good at giving advice. It is no surprise that most of your friends rely on you for advice and direction, and you seldom disappoint them.
However, you prefer to give advice than to receive it. Furthermore, you will never ask anyone for advice. You are not a social butterfly like the Pig or the Monkey, and you also hide your emotions well. Some think you are egocentric, and many times they are right. Paradoxically you are an intellectual philosopher, a cerebral person yet you rely heavily on first impressions, your gut feelings, on your sympathies, rather than on facts, or the advice and opinions of others. You choose your friends carefully and can be extremely generous to them with your time and advice. But, you also insist on the same loyalty from your friends. And when it comes to lending money, you can be a bit cheap. Though your sympathy for others often leads you to offer help, the fatal flaw in your character is your tendency to exaggerate--about helping friends as with everything else. If you do somebody a favor, you sometimes become possessive toward them in an odd way.

In love, Snake men are romantic, charming and have a sense of humor while the Snake women are usually beautiful and successful. But when you choose a partner, you will be jealous and possessive--even if you no longer love the person. Rejection is the worst blow to your delicate ego. The Snake must be received, welcomed, accepted, and approved by those with whom they come in contact. You need a lot of security.

The Metal Snake:
The Metal element strengthens the Snake. Snake people are usually proud and confident and Metal Snakes know exactly what they want in their lives; they are hungry for luxury and wealth, and usually possess the extreme willpower needed to get what they want. This type of Snake is very calculating, possessive, and domineering. They are always looking for opportunity and planning schemes that can help them achieve their goal. The Metal Snakes like to plan alone; they are very secretive because they don't trust others easily. Yet, despite their intelligence, they don't guarantee to achieve their goals, but beware, Metal Snake definitely won't accept failure gracefully.

The Water Snake:
When you combine the calm and intuitive Water element with the secretive and intelligent Snake, you get a strong manager with much to offer. Water Snakes are very business-minded and full of charisma; they know exactly how to manage people and projects and are extremely focused. They are wise and insightful, yet practical and artistic. They don't get distracted away from their goals and always have their ways to influence those around them. The Wood Snake:
The Wood Snake is one of the exceptions. They are wise but not as ambitious, knowledgeable, but not as selfish. These types of people are usually more laid-back and easygoing; they love to work in a creative or innovative environment without too much restriction or too many rules to tie them down. Nevertheless, like most Snake people, Wood Snakes still crave the life of luxury and care about their own appearance. It is no wonder that many Wood Snake people are poets, painters, musicians, or collectors.

The Fire Snake:
The Fire element, added to the Snakes' natural Fire element, makes the Fire Snakes dynamic people. Many Fire Snakes end up as politicians because they are full of charisma and energy and show extreme confidence and leadership, which make people run to vote for them.
