Todays song is dark, sensentive, and a little vulnerable. Craig Owen's lyrics get to me and none more than his band Chiodos's lyrics to "The Undertaker's Thirst for Revenge is Unquenchable (The Final Battle)" on their CD, Bone Pallace Ballet. Craig is a dark soul. His mom had him when she was 17, his parents fought, and he was always an outcast... so as expected, his lyrics are as a dark as his past. In Chiodos, he writes about every moment of his life that haunts him. The ending of this song has a quote that shows this:
"Empty is the sky before the sun wakes up
Empty is eyes of animals in cages
Empty are the faces of women in mourning
When everythings been then taken from them
Me? Don't ask me about empty."
This song also features a William Shakespeare quote from As You Like It, "All the World's A Stage", Which Craig has tattooed on his chest. He's not all dark, he's also very funny and sweet. But this song isn't an example of that...
