Valentine's Day, a day of love where couple do something special for one another to show signs of affection toward their significant others.
That's the way things used to be, now it's alll a race to see who can get the bigger 'diamond'. It's all so superficial, I've read polls online that say that 79% of females in the U.S. would dump their boy friends should they forget this particular day and not get them anything. That, I found funny. After the other days of the year they've spent loving one another, it all goes down the toilet because of this idiotic day of materialistic ideals.
That's one reason V - Day needs to burn, another reason this holiday needs to burn is for the ones who are unfortunate enough to not have anyone to spend it with. All it does it force those certain individuals into a deep depression that can turn even the cheeriest of men/women into an emo wannabe. It's just a day that separates the lucky from the unlucky. It's a day that ends in heartache and anger in my case.
So this is the end of my short rant on reasons why V- Day needs to burn in the fires. A word of advice on this day, if you have a gf/bf do not (I repeat: DO NOT!) go out with dateless friends (unless they are really understanding)... you might just get a kick in the arse later...

to the third, I totally commiserate. It is horrible when you're alone and all that, but that's why you go out and buy those huge fluffy stuffed animals with hearts so you can take them home and either tear them to pieces or hug the stuffing outta them... ^^
and I'd go out with dateless friends, because if my bf/gf thought so poorly of that, then they obviously don't care enough to realize that I care abt my friends, and sometimes I gotta put them before him... (tho vice versa would happen, too)
