It just goes to show that you can’t trust anyone. A clan is normally a group of people you can depend on in any situation, people you can rely on to keep secret your true identity or to have your back in a threatening position. My clan is dead. There is no honor among its members.
While taking with Shadow at the main base, three of the clan members, Rixand, Amber, and Valerie, stole a very important item from me: a disc containing useful information for my training. At first, the three of them took of East on foot. I grabbed the nearest urban-based land scooter and pursued. I managed to catch up to them and Amber broke the disc in half. I saw through their deception however, for they continued to flee and avoided allowing me to see the disc; I knew it was a decoy. I followed once again on the scooter, but my front wheel was loose, causing me to lose control. They beat me back to the base as I was heading back for repairs and took the three remaining scooters, leaving me to continue my pursuit on foot.
I rushed past Valerie, as she was the slowest and behind the others, but I lost Rixand and Amber. Turning to meet Valerie, I managed to throw her from her scooter and put her in a head-lock, planning to use her as leverage. I yelled to the others as they retreated. They saw the danger their comrade was in, but paid no heed. Cowards, no honor among them. Next thing I know, as I’m dragging Valerie back to the base for interrogation, s**t! My arm is throbbing and the nimble little she-devil broke free, running to catch up with the others. Damn, the hostage situation failed and I’m out of luck. This was going to be harder than I thought.
I retreated back to the base and tried to think of another plan. I had no other able comrades to turn to for assistance. Spaz was not home, Kittala was at the academy, and Kitty was unable to get into any physical confrontations due to being with child. I had to do it alone.
I decided to do what all ninja do best, stay hidden on wait patiently. I didn’t have to wait long before they were in sight. I heard them a mile off anyway, they were being loud and they underestimated me. I leapt upon my prey, adrenaline rushing through my body. I knew Amber carried the package, so I went for her first. The b***h was ready though, quick too. She grabbed me by the hair as someone tried to kick my legs out from under me from behind, I believe it was Valerie. Amber shouted at me for chocking Valerie. All the while, this only served as fuel to make me angrier…out for blood. I wrestled the case from Amber and quickly retreated into the base. Damn it! The case was empty!
I sat down, shaking with rage and the rush of the previous fight. The traitorous 3 man crew had run off to the East again. Kittala’s father, the eldest living person in the base, stepped in to end the confrontation. He called the three back to the base and ordered them to return my important disc. At this point, I did not realize I had hurt Valerie as much as I did. It was never my intention to hurt her, just take her hostage so I could bargain for the disc. I have honor, she may have betray me, but she’s still my friend. I apologized outright and told her it was not my intention to have hurt her and asked her if she was alright, while Amber glared at me.
Obviously there is a lot of tension in my clan now, but perhaps we will be able to clear it up. Though, I’m not sure if all the wounds would heal, or if I would ever fully be able to trust them again. Kittala’s father has banned us all from the base for a while. I’m very angry about this, I understand I’m at fault to, but all I wanted was to get back what is rightfully mine. It just goes to show, you think you know someone, but they can just as quickly turn on you.
I wait for the day when I can be with the one person I truly trust, the one who would never betray me.
Lesson learned from this mission: Trust no one, no matter how well you think you know them.
