Every day you wake up you are just another day closer to the grave. Whether you accept it or not it is inevitable.

10 years ago today 13 people sat down for breakfast. None of them knew it would be their last meal. They left their homes never knowing they would not see their families again. 10 years ago today was the Columbine school massacre where two young men were tired of life and decided to end their lives taking as many people with them as possible. Banning guns and violent media were the two biggest responses to the tragedy, but no ban can ever bring someone dead back.

Look around you to your brothers and sisters. Look to your parents. The people surrounding you. Some day that will all be gone. You never know how or when, but some day it will all be over. They might be taken from you, or you might be taken from them. Either way it's bound to end. We tend to resent those close to us especially in our youth. People tend to just look at the flaws ignoring the good. They can annoy us, but they often have contributed something important to our lives.

It's a trend in our youth to hate our families. They are too abusive, or they are too apathetic, or they are too busy to notice you or whatever. People who constantly resent their families should just shut up and think a bit more. If you have a brother and you found out this afternoon that he died would there be anything you would regret? Anything you wished you had said, but didn't? Some day everyone will be taken from you and by then it will be too late to tell them anything.

A life cherished means little if you spend it making the lives of others miserable. The guys that shot up Columbine did not do this because they watched Natural Born Killers too many times. KMFDM didn't tell them they needed to do this. Doom did not twist their arm. The reason they shot up Columbine was for revenge. The people around them belittled and even beat them. The location where they suffered so much was the target of their revenge before their predetermined demise. Harassment and abuse isn't a justified reason for murder, but had they not been though so much the massacre would not have happened.
