It was a little over a year ago... Something like 2007, I can't remember the exact date because I'm not very good with exact dates. My father had sometimes been bringing books home, and that day, he brought home four: Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism and the first three books in the T.Witches series.
T.Witches. Odd title. Is it a name or something? Thomas Witches? Well... they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but here's the cover anyway.
Something about this cover told me it wasn't the next Harry Potter.
Still, it was a new book, and new material, so I decided to look at the back summary of it. This is as close as I can get to the actual text, interrupted by the italics which are my thoughts.
So after a bit of procrastination, I read it.
I'll be honest: It wasn't that bad. It wasn't very good, in fact, it was fairly bad, but it wasn't terrible. I'd give it a C.
So why am I writing about it? Simple. I'm going to read through it, chapter by chapter, and post my commentary on it. Hopefully, one of us will be entertained. If I get through the first book well enough, I may start on the second and third, neither of which I've really read yet.
So the next post I'll be starting on Chapter one: Fourteen years ago. Now I'm not a real writing critic, nor do I have an English degree, but I'll do my best to do a fair analysis of this book. Or mock it, if it's as bad as I remember.
So first thing I start this up proper, let me know what you think, 'k?

CAMRYN BARNES One of those names that tell you all you really need to know. SMART, UPBEAT AND POPU-LAR, CAM IS BEST OF BREED ALL AROUND, EXCEPT FOR ONE BONE-CHILLING SECRET. CAM SEES THINGS HAPPENING BEFORE THEY HAPPEN. VERY BAD THINGS. Precognition?
ALEXANDRA FIELDING SPUNKY, PUNKY, AND SARCASTIC, (What an original character concept!) ALEX IS ALL ABOUT MAKING IT FROM DAY TO DAY. LIFE'S TOUGH, BUT ALEX DEALS. EXCEPT FOR THE WEIRDNESS. ALEX HEARS THINGS. THE THINGS PEOPLE THINK, BUT HAVEN'T SAID. Telepathy? Soo... they're psychics?
If ever they met...
They could combine their powerful gifts and help people.
Maybe even save a life.
They could figure out who they really are, who their parents really are- or were.
They could falls into very evil hands.
Guess what? They're going to meet, aren't they. They're about to meet. Duh.
