"They're arguing again about who to send."
She doesn't answer, doesn't even acknowledge his (not-truly) existence.
"Axel will be likely sent again."
She only curls up more, tucked away in the little corner of Traverse Town that she's made it to.
"Xion, the burns from last time still haven' properly healed."
"...That was just an accident. He didn't mean to do that."
"I know."
"Roxas says he's having weird dreams lately."
"Are you having dreams as well?"
"No... Things just come to me... Lexaeus?"
"Yes?"
"I don't know who I really am."
What can he say to that?
"Am I really some one? Or even a no one?"
"...I'll help you find out."
"Really? You'll be my knight, then?"
"Yes."
Carefully, as if she'll break with one wrong move, she uncurls and pulls herself out of the tiny little space she had crawled into. She reaches forward, and her small arms are held in a gentle giant's grip as he helps pull her out. His massive arms can hold her easily and she wraps her arms around his neck.
"Promise me."
"I promise."
"Even when you leave for Oblivion, you'll still be my knight?"
"Even when I leave for Oblivion."
"No matter what?"
"No matter what."
She accepts his promise, even as something deep down warns her when she gently kisses his temple and rests her head in the crook of his neck.
Two months pass
and she never
sees him
again.
