So lately my grandpa has been stating a lot of things. Supposedly Jesus said this, God said that, the Bible says this. He either offers no citation or just says it is in the Bible. For example we were talking about Israel. We give them a whole lot of support and they seem to hate us and think we are trying to buy them off. I voiced my opinion that if we aren't appreciated we should stop giving them help and let them take on the middle east on their own. His immediate response is that the Bible says we need to support them. I asked him to quote the verse. He didn't know where the verse was located or how it was worded, but he knew it was there. I told him not to say stuff is in the Bible if he can't point out where they can be found. His response was asking me how much I know about the Bible. I'm pretty sure his point was that I don't know much about it either. That wasn't the point though. What I am saying is not to say that it is in the Bible if he can't say where it is. That's like saying the Constitution gives you the right to pee on a police car. No amendment or article or anything is cited, it's just supposedly in the constitution. So I tell him to quote the Bible directly since for all I know he can be bullshitting me. All he had to say is that it's my own fault if I don't believe the Bible.

So the conversation gets back to the Jews. Supposedly we owe them our support because supposedly no other people have been so oppressed through history. Then he used the holocaust as an example quoting the 6 million fatality statistic. I explained there was no proof just how many were killed as well as the other targets of communists, homosexuals, gypsies, and cripples. The other targets are beside the point. The Jews were the targets and now I'm a "holocaust denier.

Then he continued to say that it's ironic that Jesus was a Jew, and that the Jews were "Gods chosen people", and they don't believe in Jesus. I just replied saying it's not my problem they were going to burn in hell. Then he claimed they would not burn in hell. To back up my point I gave the direct quote of John 3:16. I could actually quote the Bible directly which is more he could do, but somehow I was still wrong.

If those reading this don't believe in God well I'm not here to debate it nor do I intend on debating it. My main point is he should stop saying it's there without being able to verify it. The only thing in the conversation I said was in the Bible I was able to directly quote.
