It's funny. I graduated in May and have been out of choir since. I still miss being in choir even though I'm still pissed off at the high school choir director. As to be expected he isn't doing anything useful this year. The two things I disliked most were the lack of discipline and the lack of a challenge. When it came time for rehearsal half the choir goofed off most of the time. When we get on stage we had no idea what to do so we looked bad. I gave my all, but it wasn't enough to keep anyone else in line. I also hated the lack of a challenge.

Sophomore year it was just choir. Junior year it was concert and advanced choir. The songs the advanced choir learned were songs I would expect for the concert choir. The songs the concert choir learned I expected for the middle school choir. Speaking of which senior year we had a couple months to learn a few songs while the middle school only had a couple weeks. The middle school actually performed better than the advanced choir with less preparation time! That's just embarrassing. Junior year there was one song I really liked. It was Magnificent Horses. It was for a mass choir otherwise we would have never even touched it. I remember when we learned this one of the Sopranos and myself were the only ones looking forward to it. Everyone else wanted to jump off a bridge.

I guess I should just be glad that's behind me. It still bothers me though when I go on youtube and they recommend high school choir performances. It really annoys me seeing how good they are and thinking how we were out performed by a middle school choir. emo
