I believe that I've made quite a few enemies in the last month of Gaia ever since I stepped into the Chatterbox forum. Before I ever did that I was quite the exchange person, bumping there and whatnot, but then decided to try the forum that the GD claimed to be the worst one on Gaia.
Now the Chatterbox is just a place for garbage topics and such, but the one topic that seems to always catch my interest is when it's labeled as followed:

Now when a person sees that they must think wow, just wow, someone was kind enough to take their hard earned and sought item and "give away" to a person. However this is not the case as I've seen many a time. It seems now that this so called give away is where you must donate to the topic creator in a bidding war of donations for this one person to give you that certain item. In a lot of cases as well, this so called item that they promise either it be a kiki or devil tail, are never actually in a person's inventory to begin with and they then tell you that as soon as they get your money they'll buy it and give it to you.
Hmm, I smell scam....
People then seem to believe, and it's usually the "giver", that you can get the kiki or horns or whatever for cheap if you join in one of these giveaways. BULL s**t! biggrin Many times you'll notice on the first page that it almost always says that your donations are not refundable, so you just spent an hour or more donating your hard earned gold and then someone out bids you with say 15k, well you're out your 10k, the scammer has that and now has 15k extra.
These so called giveaways are nothing more than scamming auctions forcing people to believe that if you donate enough you'll be able to get the item you want instead of just saving up to the desired amount to purchase at the vend or exchange. But uh oh! Billy forgot that now since he was in this "give away" and out bid that he doesn't have a cent left! Poor Billy.
So next time you see a so called "Giveaway" don't be so quick to jump on in, because remember:
Real give away: Giving of the item with no intension of getting something in return
Scam Giveaway: GIVE ME YOUR GOLD!!! XD AHAHAHAHA!........Erm, Giving the item after donating your hard earned gold and then getting nothing in return if out donated.
