I had taken over a paper route for Vick, a friend of my mom's, for a week while he went to go visit his parents. Apparently it was his dad's birthday and both his parents are getting on in age. Anyway for a week I'd go to the paper place at 2:30, along with a friend, roll/bag up papers, then we'd go out and do our two routes. Each one takes about an hour for slowpokes like us, so we normally finished at about 5:30. Well it was rainy and wet for several of those days. And Sunday morning, last week's Sunday, I managed to slip on mud-covered sidewalk and go down on my right knee. Hard. It wasn't gushing out blood, but if I didn't have a bandaid to put over the worse of it I'm sure it would have oozed a steady stream down to my foot. The current result is a scattering of scabs, and as new skin does it's thing it all itches. I'll be glad when the whole thing is finally healed, it's such a nusiance!
